Update August 29, 2008: ibofightback has edited the web pages below with updated information.
One of the prominent supporters of Amway and Quixtar, ibofightback, has a section on his site where he lists various Amway Facts. I went through that list and found some things that I would like to amend:
- Nutrilite/Nutriway – used and endorsed by the world’s fastest hurdler, Liu Xiang: This should be changed to say “endorsed by former world record holder in the 110m hurdlers, Liu Xiang.” Liu Xiang’s record was bested by Dayron Robles of Cuba on July 8, 2008. Robles’ time of 12.87 beat Liu’s record by 0.01 seconds.
- Nutrilite/Nutriway – used and endorsed by the world’s fastest man, Asafa Powell: Powell’s world record was beaten by Jamaican compatriot Usain Bolt not once, but twice. The new record in the 100m dash is 9.69 seconds, run at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
- Alticor is the 25th largest private company in the US: According to Forbes magazine’s 2007 poll, Alticor now ranks as the 43rd largest private corporation.
At one point, these facts were true, but time and history wait for no one, and now these facts should be updated to reflect the truth today.

But putting the current truth would not be beneficial to Amway so maybe it will remain because it was true at the time it happened?
Would you believe that while the supposed black out about the Olympics was in effect, the post that I made about the Nutrilite athletes laying big eggs in the Bird’s Nest Olympic stadium were some of my most widely viewed posts over last week. Alticor, also has been in a feeding frenzy downloading the story about their own sponsored athletes being nearer do wells. The embarrassment of these supposed world class Nutrilite athletes coming up stinkers is not easily forgotten by the marketing geniuses, er idiots at Amway. Those paying their salaries are the duped fools in this parade of losing dollars.
That’s the beauty of the Olympics. The favorite or the world record holder doesn’t always win. On the track or in the pool, marketing dollars mean nothing. Asafa Powell didn’t put in a stinker of a race; he just got blown off the track by his compatriot Bolt.
Amthrax…
Might I point out that Powell finished 5th in that race, having been beat out not just by Bolt, but by three other athletes beside Bolt. He didn’t even run a respectable 2nd or 3rd.
Yes about the 100m race. Powell did get a gold medal in the 4×100m race, however.
Again, nobody would really care about this whole thing, except ibofightback was promoting nutrilite as being key to Asafa Powell’s success, so now you have the aftermath.
If nobody said anything previously, this post probably wouldn’t be here now.
