The Next Major Function Is Always Just Around The Corner

May 7, 2009

Somehow I missed this tweet from BWW:

Summer Conference dates are now online at Start making plans TODAY to attend with your group!
10:13 AM Apr 7th from web

BWW hadn’t even finished with their Spring Leadership 2009 events before starting to promote the next event!

Now, I understand that organizing events takes a long time and requires much planning. I’m just pointing out a common trait of Systems to always be promoting the next Major Function as the most important thing to plan for.

Yes, there is always a major function coming soon! IBOs who signed up early were edified when I was active. I’m almost certain that’s still the case. What goes unnoticed apparently, by many IBOs is what progress have you made in your Amway business since the lasy function. Did you sponsor new people as a result of what you learned? Did your group actually shrink because of someone quitting since the last function? Have you sold more products? Have you seen a net profit?

I forgot who mentioned it, but it appeared that major functions are moving away from stadiums and arenas into smaller venues. Is it possible that groups are shrinking? Are people doing their research? I did notice that Amway did not post sale for Amway North America this past year.

Is the pyramid starting to erode just a bit?

Regarding the smaller venues, I bet it’s being spun as the System leaders want to have a more personal and intimate meeting setting for these functions.

Uh… that’s one way of descripting contraction within these groups.

Even if the functions are in the same hotel ballrooms there are ways to fill up the empty space.

Move the walls in. Add tables. Spread the tables out. Put fewer chairs at each table. etc.

    We’ve seen it all.

It happens right through the systems globally. It was standard practice for speakers to be promoting the next function in our speeches at major functions. It was one of the key points in tips for speakers that came from ida. Leadership conferences have just been held in April around Australia and now ida are busy promoting winter conference. I just posted this on Q-blog forum from the ida website.

    The scam rolls on …

Here are all the details for the next major rip off … oops, I mean’t “major function” in Melbourne. Remember to take advantage of the early bird pricing folks. Its going to be an awesome, life changing function. All the leaders will be there. The information will be fantastic. It will be a blast of fun as well. Order your tickets NOW and remember to order additional tickets so that you can sell them to the new people you sign up immediately.

One thing that was taught, was to always promote a meeting from a well as all meetings defer to a larger pin..

It’s all about going to the next thing..

One thing I also remember was the speakers often emphasized (at functions) the importance of standing order and on standing order tapes, they would emphasize the importance of attending functions.

Being from Hawaii, a major function was a major expense as three of the four majors required airfare and hotel accommodations. Everytime I had made a little bit of cash, it winded up going right back out to pay for the next big event.
