Orrin Woodward on Advice Giving

January 26, 2011

I can’t resist commenting on Orrin’s latest tweet on advice:

Bad advice is free & readily available, but good advice is rare & requires an investment.

So… Orrin wants you to pay him so that he can give you advice that he has collected from books that are either free or readily available from the library?

To his credit and unlike some upline kingpins, Orrin has a way with words that make distributors feel good about them giving him money.

I could charge people $5 telling them to not listen to this moron and they’d be much further ahead.

    Especially if they listened.

His advice and one-liners are priceless!! Here is one of my favorites.

“I am a scamming D-bag that thinks so highly of myself that I actually feel good about conning thousands of people into buying a non-healthy juice for $40.00 a bottle!! Can you believe I make money doing this?”

  3. January 30, 2011 9:42 am

My favourite is this – “The strength of your convictions is measured by the amount of sacrifice you are willing to put into it.”

Another close runner-up fav is this – “A man of integrity expects others to believe him, and he will let time prove him right.”

I have enjoyed memorising Orrin’s words and one-liners tremendously! 🙂

@Rykel – How many people are at the Leadership Conference this week? 5000? 10000? Did you fly in from Asia to attend?

Do you have any information regarding the shift in product focus that some ex-TEAM members are purporting is in the works?

  5. January 30, 2011 2:16 pm

Oh goody. Here’s Rykel the Woodward parrot.

He’s being saying the time proving him right line since he was in Amway.

When will time prove him to have successfully developed other people to financial independence?

That’s what I thought. Keep buying his tools Rykel. I enjoy reading your bullshit.

    It makes me feel smarter.

“Even though God has given us all the Opportunity of Life out of love, He can not guarantee that you will be happy in it. This is simply a choice you have to make…

and so too is the same with all things done out of Faith, Hope, and Love.”

Maybe Orrin should read “Good To Great” again and cull some principles of leadership from that book, and then read “How They Mighty Fall” so he can get a visual graph as to how and why his company is imploding!!

Some really good people have followed and even more continue to follow this self promoting “leader” (what a friggin joke) right off the cliff. Orrin and the rest of that cult are great when it comes to self promotion, edifying (a very good skill that they have honed), and making the women take a second class citizen roll when it comes to the business. But get them behind closed doors, and the true person comes out.

I’ve read some of the comments including those questioning the set up of the All Grace Outreach Leadership….I think you have every reason to question the incestuous set up of said leadership at the time. But I can only tell you that this is only one of the “questionable things” that have gone on.

On time Fly, has it right.
Everything Orrin does he does with “specific intent, strategically and systematically.” Just like his little quote in this post, it is done to control those who might seek out information through other sources and to lay the so called “crediblity” for themselves. The “internet” or a site like this would be “bad advice” because it doesn’t serve his agenda to control the information he wants you to believe. There is a cd in the system: THOSE WHO CONTROL THE INFORMATION,CONTROL THE WEALTH, no accident there! I will say this site and all others who try and warn people of the snare and dangerous of ‘blindly following” do not go unnoticed by Orrin, he just uses his pawns, by stroking their ego and creating the illusion they are “bad”, to come on here to defend what has been crammed down their throats, repeatedly. Their game is, repetition and contol of every area of you life; cult, that should be obvious. Seek the information about cults for yourself and if your not so indoctrinated you will recognize the truth. They dress it up with “they care about YOU”, “leadership, persuasive coersion, lies, and deception.” Don’t think for a minute Orrin isn’t trying to silence his critics, inside his delusional world he is making it so loud about these sites, in his deceptive, manipulative, guilt-ridden speechs, blogs, one-liners etc, that most don’t think twice and just agree, that anyone trying to “steal their dreams” is evil, 95% who isn’t as smart as them because after all they are the “guru’s” and ” best sellers.” They wouldn’t be “guru’s” or “best sellers” if they earned it honestly, they tell the leaders to spread the word to “vote” and created promotions before the book came out to buy cases and then sent it down within a week or 2 through the whole organization as BOM (book of the month), Orrin said he sold 100,000 books, well no duh! I am not an author so don’t know if this is the way authors do it, but to me, it is a cover-up of the facts, then everything you write and talk about you have to say first “your’s and Chris’s #1 best seller, is narcissitic and self promoting. Then to proclaim like you are a leadership guru, is nothing but a fake! He is not the person he protrays to be but will continue to get people to worship him because the “edification” that he demands along with the “loyality” he demands. Think for yourself, your gut is telling you something is wrong listen to it! Do your research, they will tell you not to, that should be your first red flag. If you choose to follow blindly, I feel bad for you, you will lose in the end.

    Speak your truth,
Awesome post! Totally right on. Half lies/half truths used once again. I was part of that deception, and bought the books, after we had too many and then we had to buy it again when it came down on system. Mentally, they put you in a pot of warm water and then like the frog they talk about, turn on the stove and turn it up slowly until…… you can’t think for yourself. Your brains are boiled and your eyes too. Read Steve Hasan’s BITE model on thought reform. They use same techniques as the Moonies!

This quote by Oriin W. is wrong on both counts. Good advice is not rare. And good advice does not require any great price for listening. It only takes common sense to listen to good advice. And most often good advice will come from those who are closest to you if you are willing to listen and learn from them. Quotes like this one are used as a propaganda device to keep people from listening to those they should be listening to. Orrin is a master at putting people under his spell and causing them to break with all of the really important people in thier lives. Quotes like this are used to deceive people.

How long and When will justice be served? He must be looking in the mirror! And to think people are “buying in” to him, this is so heart wrenching when it comes crashing down and he is exposed for who he really is, there will be no empathy from me.

  21. February 22, 2011 10:40 am

@amthrax – I wasn’t there at the last Winter Leadership Convention (WLC), hence I do not have the numbers on hand… however, I do know for a fact that TEAM attendance grew by more than 10% over the last quarter, is now the dominant “long lasting” organisation in MonaVie due to the ever-growing numbers and yes, TEAM is “rebranding” its partnership with MonaVie.

Indeed, if you are in USA, you should find that the slogan for MonaVie has changed from “Drink It, Feel It, Share it” to “A More Meaningful Life” while the official website now comes with a cool lady with the product in hand.

I was one of those championing Orrin for a LESS product-focused TEAM branding as I felt that the MonaVie impression was too strong. Overwhelmingly so. Have you seen the MonaVie-produced video entitled, “We Are MonaVie” on Youtube? It was so strong that while We were trying to build the business of developing leaders, We surprisingly ended up with more retail/preferred customers and MonaVie lovers than community builders!

I know, I can hear the Anti-TEAM kingpins scream, “It CANNOT be!!!! There are NO retail customers in the business!!! People ONLY buy the products because they want the COMMISSIONS!!!” 🙂

Anyway, I digress. Hence, due to the overpowering feelings of “We are MonaVie – let’s go out and sell juicce to everybody!” I suggested to Orrin that perhaps TEAM should PDCA back to its core strength. That of promoting the SYSTEM, instead of massively signing up all the people in the world to be mere product users.

I hope that little tidbit helps!

    Regards, Rykel

p/s. @rocket: In case you wonder if I have a LIFE outside of TEAM and Amway/MonaVie/MLM, please check out my blog. I have contributed as much energy to the Open Source software communities (cf. Ubuntuforums.org) as I have into the Business. Maybe too much. LOL

What are your numbers in the “TEAM”, you know the qualifying profit sharing?
You missed a leadership Convention and You honestly believe Orrin is listening to you. That is hysterical.
I sure hope they cleaned up their act because the “selling the leadership” which they tried before and it failed miserably, (without customers, which we know there is none/no end users) would then qualify them as a illegal pyramid scheme, which we know Orrin has been concerned about that, nice try though!

BTW -Who are you referring to, when you say “anti-team kingpins?”

  24. February 22, 2011 6:08 pm

@Speak The Truth – You are right, attending Weekend Leadership Convention (WLC) is indeed a measure of one’s commitment to the TEAM. We are arranging for another delegation to go for the WLC later this year. However, you might want to know that it costs us a BOMB to travel to America. The last round trip ticket on Singapore Airlines alone was like approx. USD 2000, NOT including lodging, travel and food.

Which is why I say, “You Americans are so fortunate to be able to just buy a domestic flight and go WLC!” If we can come all the way from Asia, I do not see why you cannot simply traverse your own backyard.

TEAM is good or bad notwithstanding, what is worse than having to work hard all your life, is when you WANT to work hard (go for WLC) and yet cannot, due to political, religious, language and distance barriers.

Before anyone starts rambling off about webinars etc. I would like to say that yes, while the internet can “bring” the TEAM to you, nothing beats the sense of camaraderie you get when you are actually cheering the speakers with hundreds of thousands of other leaders in the audience!

As for the Anti-TEAM/System/Amway/MonaVie kingpins, they are all the fellas who insist stubbornly on some urban legends, such as the Famous Lie, “There are NO retail customers in Amway!” and recommend that the only thing is to destroy the concept of Free Enterprise, the purest expression of which is Network Marketing.

btw, have you Americans watched “The American Dream” animated cartoon on Youtube? The Anti-TEAM/System/Amway/MonaVie kingpins sound almost like the Persians who want to keep you 300 Americans in servitude to them for the rest of your lives by denying you the chance for FREE ENTERPRISE.

In some countries today, you CANNOT even build a network marketing organisation, simply because it is deemed politically incorrect as some of you peasants may become wealthy beyond what your masters can bear.

    Regards, Rykel

You say: “If we can come all the way from Asia, I do not see why you cannot simply traverse your own backyard.”

I am not clear who you would be speaking to (the people who may have had other commitments possibly with church, weddings, maybe ill, who won’t “traverse your own backyard?”)
I have to say that was not the case at all with thousands from our team, it was at least 500 US dollars to go to every major we attended, so as I can see it is about 4 times that for you, that would be a no brainer!
    Thanks for answering your definition:
As for the Anti-TEAM/System/Amway/MonaVie kingpins, they are all the fellas who insist stubbornly on some urban legends, such as the Famous Lie, “There are NO retail customers in Amway!”

That must be one of those “language” barriers you are referring to, that clearly is not what they mean by the “kingpins” here in the USA, LOL!
Were you in Amway, and if yes, for how long?
    “Famous Lie?”
Did you know Orrin sued Amway for being a “pyramid scheme” who’s products were not sellable, and grossly overpriced? Customers!?
Orrin said him and Chris tried that once! Meaning they couldn’t sell either.(that would be on cd from a Go diamond weekend, have you heard it?)
Are you not in a product business? I’m confused must be another lanuage barrier?
How long have you know, Orrin?
I can see your point on the language and distance barriers, for sure!

The “hundred of thousands of other leaders in the audience” this is a got to be the biggest exageration I have heard, and would be very deceiving for others.
Is the Team Office posting the actual numbers at seminars and majors now, wow, now that would be transparent!
So, where did you get these numbers?

I think if I were you I would stick with the webinars, good luck though!

“Punctuality is the expression of commitment”

“We are born naked, wet, and hungry, and get slapped on our butt … then things get worse”

Who’s fired up?!?!?!?!?!? After reading these one liners I know the TEAM is ready to chase after the dream now!!!! Are you ready to lose all your friends and family and go into debt?!?!?!??!
