Tool of the Day: TL 135A – Additional Information Pack

March 18, 2011

TL 135A Additional Information Pack TEAM

The Tool of the Day is an oldie from TEAM, but hey it’s got a new look, so it might as well be new:

The TL 135A – Additional Information Pack is described as follows, “If knowledge is power, our Additional Information Pack will take your business to the nuclear level!”

Nuclear level? I’m not sure you want to associate your business with that image! Here is a screenshot taken from the TEAM web site as of March 18, 2011, in case the description gets changed.

Since there are a lot of ex-TEAM members here, maybe you can shed some light on how these “updated” and “revised” tools are promoted throughout the TEAM organization. Some questions:

  • Are distributors who had the old version encouraged to buy the new one?
  • What if you are seen using an old version of the tool? Are you yelled at for not having the latest version?
  • What new information is contained in these revised tools?
  • Why does TEAM keep recycling their old tools over and over?
  • Does TEAM provide any information in a free audio (i.e. MP3) format?

In the wake of the disaster in Japan, the timing on taking your business to the nuclear level could not be more perfect. Kudos to the crack staff over there at Team. (Not that is matters, the recycled junk will still sell.)

BTW, I think Team is the greenest company on the planet. They recycle everything!

Amthrax, I just commented on another entry about going from TOD to Team that probably fits better here. You are just Jonnie on the freaking spot and put this up before I noticed.

I wonder how many tool companies offer free downloads. Most churches offer free downloads of sermons. Why shouldn’t tool companies?

BTW, here is the website of TEAM’s Pastor Dickie. You can go back weeks, months or years to get a particular sermon.

Also, isn’t the “Standing Order” system promoted as “the most up to date information to get your business to the next level”? If so, why do they wait weeks or months to release a speech from a convention onto a recording and send it out to the masses? If it was that important they could put it on their website and have it released within days. Why wait months?

Pastor Dickie’s website has 390 sermons available to be downloaded FREE. If a not-for-profit can afford to put materials online for free download, why can’t tool companies afford to do it? (rhetorical question…)

Today, I nominate everyone on the Policy Council. (I guess that makes it “tools” of the day.)

Was anyone around when Brady and the other went from Team of Destiny to Team?
I had forgotten how many tools that I had that said TOD that were no longer of use.
Do you think the Team office swapped those out for new CD’s and books that now said Team? What about for my group?
This is the kind of nickel and dime greed that absolutely will doom them to failure. This is just one of many examples.
You can only kick a dog so many times before he will bite your greedy behind.

I was there. All those tools were rendered obsolete overnight pretty much. Had to buy replacements that were edited or revised. That PISSED me off ALOT!!! No return policy or exchanges. Just FBOCo. again!!

  8. March 18, 2011 10:16 am

I threw out over $5,000 worth of useless Team of Destiny tools and Chris Brady and the other guy tried selling it to us all as a business expense. That is the price of owning your own business, they would say. That is just wrong. The CDs cost pennies on the dollar to make, it would have been nothing to help their struggling

They also never had a refund policy on tools and we all know how many books, cds, tapes, tickets and TL items we all got stuck with over the years when people quit and did not want to pay for this junk. I laughed when they rolled out the policy explaining that it was the Turbo 25’s responsibility to EAT these costs. Way to stick it to your smallest profit sharers so that you could rake in more CASH.

WILL, it sounds like you may be able to put in a claim in the Amway/Pokorny class action lawsuit.

If the settlement is approved, ALL ibos and former ibos who suffered a loss in the US at the hands of ANY Amway Diamond organization will be able to put in a claim. The years of the settlement are 2003-2010 I believe.

The settlement offer included a claim of up to $15,000 per person. This offer would cover all existing ibos, former ibos including those from TEAM.

Somebody should keep up on the lawsuit. It should be announced within a month if it is approved.

  10. March 18, 2011 10:29 am

There’s only ONE THING that’s free in TEAM – and that’s the prospect’s first open meeting. But NOTHING ELSE IS FREE! Bloody hell, any good business offers samples, fercryingoutloud! Any good business has sales, too! I’m a member of an online health store, and today I got my order – free health magazine and about $30 worth of free stuff that I qualified for being a loyal customer. I was a freaking loyal customer for TEAM for seven months and I didn’t get ANYTHING free for my loyalty.

Sorry, but I am really pissed off. Any legitimate company gives free incentives, including arterie-clogging MacDonalds, but where the hell are the incentives in TEAM? Other than visiting Woodward’s stupid mansion? (trip ain’t free)

BTW, TEAM must be running out of words to say, it’s running out of concepts to share, so it has to rehash everything they got.

  11. March 18, 2011 10:32 am

What about Monavie/TEAM lawsuit? Any coming up?

  12. March 18, 2011 10:35 am

Actually, I looked it up, the suit has been denied article is here

  13. MichMan permalink

The lawsuit has not been denied. Amway’s settlement offer has been initially rejected by the judge, basically because it was too stingy.

Amway is sharpening their pencils and will becoming up with a better offer probably within weeks. If they don’t, the initial hearings for the class action lawsuit are scheduled to begin in April.

So we should know shortly what the status is.

This one of the stories on the recycled tools, that I posted under questions for the ‘supreme mis-leaders’ and that they just expect people to go broke buying.
The recycled tools that your pawn busted out a bunch of hyped up meetings in our groups to get their leaders in the “TOP MEDIA WAR” a week or 2 before you sued Quixtar/Amway. THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LOST and way too many people left to count on this one! And when your pawn was confronted about these thousands of lost $$, they had the flipping audacity to say “They didn’t tell anyone to do this? Flat out heartless, LIARS!” We know they themselves didn’t do it, they just coerced everyone else to go broke, and no they just cashed in on it by getting paid for those promotional meetings! People spent thousands of dollars doing this to have them a week later be stuck with a bunch of worthless information to be thrown in the garbage. How do you seriously live with yourselves? You recycle the same ole crap by editing out a few words, because it no longer pertains to the MLM hopping you are doing, right?
Well there’s one clue why people left in droves.

  15. March 18, 2011 12:18 pm

Hi, as you have already mentioned – pastor Dickie’s is a NOT-for-profit. TEAM is FOR profit. Why can’t the recording companies (Sony Music, Disney, Pixar) afford to put their songs and movies online for FREE download?

  16. March 18, 2011 12:33 pm

Rykel, it’s good that you came back, mate. I know I’m repeating myself (I posted on another post the exact same info) but a good FOR PROFIT company still gives out free samples, free downloads, buy-one-get-one-free stuff.

Rykel, I am a member of an online health store, I get purchases for my house and medicines each month from them. They are FOR PROFIT. I get what they call “loyalty dollars” which is actually credit for free stuff. They also have sales you buy something and you get another cleaner free. Altogether I was able to thirty bucks worth of free stuff. Lucky me!

Rykel, a legit company WANTS to give out free samples, free downloads, bargains to attract new customers. TEAM doesn’t do that.

I got in the mail a coupon book for a fast-food resturaunt. They were giving away free coffee for limited time and also buy-one-get-one-free burgers and ice cream treats. It’s still a FOR-PROFIT business.

  17. March 18, 2011 12:36 pm

Oh, Rykel….How I have missed you soooo!

I think the point of MichMan’s comment is that Chris Brady and Orrin could make more money by giving away the secrets to build the business for free. Training for most mlms are free. Randy Haugen left team for this reason, I believe. They should be motivated to help people succeed with building monavie, not motivated by signing people up on CDOW, BOM and Standing Order Tickets each month. They are clearly trying to scam people with these tools by attaching to a hyped up income opportunity that does not work. If it did, more people would be job-optional and would actually be making money.

Sony, Disney, Pixar are legitamate businesses providing a service that people want. I will gladly buy a movie ticket to take my kids to see the new Toy Story movie, but if they try to convince me to purchase $300-$500 worth of re-cycled junk each month (Creating a new movie titled ‘Toys that Talk’ or ‘The Toys are Alive’ etc) and then attaching an income model to this that was broken….THEN I would have some serious issues with Disney, Pixar, Sony and whatever other media company that sold out to scam their customers.

Nice try though Rykel. I love your Chris Brady logic.

Don’t you know there are people who’s profit-sharing got stolen from that “profit” company/Team that you like to defend?
Just checking do you think this is morally, or eithically right?
Why don’t you answer other people questions?

  19. March 18, 2011 12:43 pm

Oh, and one more thing, Rykel, I purchased a laptop from a well-known computer store. I got nearly a hundred bucks instant rebate plus my shipping and handling fee was waived due to a sale. Again, FOR-PROFIT business.

  20. March 18, 2011 12:43 pm

To follow up on Speak Your Truth’s question, next time you have the opportunity to talk to your mentors, specifically ask Chris Brady and Orrin Woodward about these issues. Ask the tough questions and demand straight answers. Sure they will most likely lie, twist, spin and deflect the criticism, however, trust your gut and you will be able to spot the inconsistencies with their lies and see right them. I promise you it will be enlightening, unless of course you don’t want the truth.

    March 18, 2011 6:07 pm

Remember when the tools were hand delivered with a bill by your upline? If people wanted to cancel they would have to call that person and ask to be taken off of the system… Talk about a guilt trip! “Why do they want to cancel?”, “This is a bad idea.”, “How do they expect to grow their business?” Blah, Blah, Blah. They didn’t want you to cancel because it was a pay cut for them! I heard a lot of leaders actually fought going to system being ordered through the website because it would be too easy for people to just turn off the orders. Remember the time in between quixtar and MV when they expected us to stay on system even though there was no business opportunity at the time? So they could sustain incomes till the next venture? What a freakin joke! Just a bunch of garbage on cd to keep the tool scam going. Nothing of value, just so called role models stroking their egos on stage telling us how to live moral and ethical lives. Makes me sick!

I was with TEAM when they were TOD and when they made the flip to Monavie! I went through the complete purging of tools twice! Also…anybody remember how many times the first night book Leading a Consumer Rebellion changed?! Wow… they must be on version 13 or so by now! Every time it was the same thing “write off” the old and get the new! This pissed me off badly! Normy New Guy didn’t care…. he only had one first night pack and a couple CD’s MAYBE! I and other people on my team who were “serious” ended up eating entire tool trunks….because leaders have tool trunks… right? Thousands upon thousands of dollars…..gone.

Yeah, had the same line fed to us…”Wal-Mart of the Internet”! Then out of no where….Mona-Vie! The best was when Chris Brady used to bash similar companies right on the Rumour, Hearsay, and Popular Opinion CD… and then after we joined Mona-Vie….we had to buy the edited version to hand out to new people! I believe the quote was Brady calling it “Jungle Juice”! LOL….sure enough….Jungle Juice it was! I still remember my direct uplines face when we read it off the blog together! We were both WTF!? However….. I was assured by my PC upline that this was only “Phase one”! Well how’s Phase one going….? What a joke.

I heard that one of the main reasons they went to MonaVie was because Orrin and Chris were promised financial protection while being sued by Quixtar/Amway. The way I was told by my PC upline was… what better way to protect yourself than having a “billion” dollar company backing you! As for leaving MonaVie…Dallin would be eating serious crow if he tried to stop them from leaving! Don’t you guys remember the big “free to choose” campaign Dallin tried with the mlm industry! He got on the soap box (pardon the pun… I don’t think it was SA8) and spoke about how IBO’s had a right to choose where the best opportunity was etc. Now if TEAM wanted to leave …..he would try to stop them? That would be fun to watch…

This was a disgrace to say the least!

I will verify your screen shot from the Team on what looked like they were going to the Wal-Mart of the internet, saw it with our own eyes but it vanished very quickly, lol! Great point on Rykel needing to show by law, when income claims are made, he better read the FTC website and info on here. I love the bug juice and bubba juice!

I think if it were not for the pyramid title they would have had the entire 10,000 subscribing and handing out the article, just like they did with the personal email issue! LOL
I think by definition there could be some truth to that, what do you think?

    March 20, 2011 8:05 am

I wonder how early on in the process Orrin decided we were going MV. And did he make this decision based on getting legal help from them as well as a big payout. Doing what was best for him instead of the Team as a whole. We were told that after the 6 month sit, becoming the “walmart” of the internet was as easy as flipping on a switch. We were lead along the whole time promoting what they told us was going to happen when in fact they knew none of it would. Whatever it took to keep the teams together.

Hi all, I appreciate your replies, and believe it or not, I see all of you as online friends. Even opponents are important to me because iron sharpens iron. I do avoid spending too much time on individuals who are here simply to have an argument with me without giving themselves a chance to see things from a TEAMster’s point of view.

To summarily answer some of your comments – I have indeed read everything you have read with regards to TEAM/Quixtar/Merchants Of Deception etc. Otherwise, how does it explain my level of knowledge and expertise with the subject matter on hand? I hope I do not come across as boasting, but I thank all of you for the knowledge I own!

I agree that some uplines were a bit off the edge – some of them even downright WRONG, but morally, ethically and legally speaking, TEAM and Amway are still standing on the high ground. Is it “wrong” to teach people to become agents of positive change? To LIVE INTENTIONALLY FOR EXCELLENCE (LIFE)? Obviously, I know some of you will contest this last statement, but I think I am also entitled to my humble opinion.

By the way, I am concerned for those of you whose profit-sharing money was taken away, but I have no way to verify the circumstances. All companies have a right to terminate misbehaving contractors, no? I am NOT trying to belittle or downplay the hurt that some of you felt when terminated by TEAM, but unless we have a full, unbiased disclosure of the facts leading up to the termination, I would also be an idiot to just believe everything on the internet without discernment.

I know TEAM does not offer a written contract to profit-sharing directors, but I cannot comment on this because business is tough, and as long as it is legally allowed to do so, TEAM is NOT wrong to withhold competitive information from its competitors. Again, I say, it *might* be legal. (You might be surprised at how many things are “uncomfortable” YET perfectly legal. MLM is already such an item!)

One more thing, some of you asked me how much I know Orrin. A few months back, I stayed with Orrin and Laurie in their Florida home. I am a family friend, and I see Orrin in his pajamas. Not sure if this means anything to any of you, but Orrin really is not as “bad” as the media makes him out to be!

However, I am also NOT denying that Orrin might have made mistakes too. All I ask is that we do not lose sight of the overall BIGGER picture of TEAM.

TEAM is here to help You become BETTER people – people who are not just business builders, but people who loves. People who cares about issues (ie. NOT people of antipathy) . People who strives to bring up the quality of life of the world. If you are Christian, you do NOT quit on the Lord Jesus simply because there are rogue pastors or ugly fellow Christians – even if some of them were your teachers – right?

Even atheists can agree that we do NOT quit on atheism simply because the Communists are atheists, right?

Come on guys, when I am wrong, I admit! But when I am right, I expect you to say so too, like what Amthrax and TOD have done. (thanks, Amthrax and TOD!)

  39. March 20, 2011 11:27 am

Great Points maybe Rykel should go read Orrin’s pastor blog. ” Do you charge for the gospel?” Very interesting blog and a great question for all to consider who are blinded by false teachers in my oppinion. Does the Team charge for the gospel? Before you jump to answer this one, you better think about how much the Major tickets costs, does it included the full weekend, including the Sunday service, given by people who are not ordained and don’t even go to church. They have attatched this Sunday church service to their money making scheme and business seminar, and teachings! This service I can tell you first hand that Orrin himself would deride you if you didn’t stay even if you had 17 hours to drive home. So again if you think the Sunday service was free, only because they can’t charge for it, but it was included in the ticket price and you were expected to go.

One month free to the EBC and a couple of free blogs is not why I had hundreds of people go backwards every single month. I am not exaggerating one bit either. You add the costs of being on full system, attending everything and doing your leadership level volume and you can show me any income disclosure statement that you want to and that income minus expense is going to equal negative for 95% of Teamsters. Do not tell me that I do not know what I am talking about either. I watched it happen for years before my eyes. I would prefer people ONLY used the free information available on those blog, the rest of the internet and by checking out the success books at the public library. Having said that, Rykel, I do appreciate your opinion and tone on this blog.

Most blogs are free, and mind you I did get a free book for teens at that major convention in Oct 2009, but when I went to get purchase my items, the worker behind the counter told me the bag that book was given to us wasn’t free, they’ll have to take it back if we didn’t want to pay for it.
