I have finally discovered how Orrin is going to make it to a million members in TEAM!

A well-known quote from TEAM Leader Orrin Woodward is that his organization is “going to a million.”

Now, we could split hairs and debate what “going to a million” actually means. Is he talking about his Twitter followers (now over 170,000) or the total number of people who have been a part of TEAM? With the latter, one begs the question whether or not we should count the number of “quitters” from TEAM. I reckon that number is getting close to or has already surpassed the number of people in TEAM today.

I was recently forwarded this PDF document on Team-Casts. What is this “powerful tool in helping you build a strong business” you might ask? Simply put, a TEAM-Cast is a live stream of a TEAM meeting.

Basically, people set up a meeting at a distributor’s house, get other people to join, and watch a live stream of a TEAM meeting happening somewhere around the world.

Okay, I get that. I can even see some benefits to this, including:

  • TEAM Leaders don’t have to travel by car or plane for their weekly meetings, saving precious dollars and time on gas and hotel accommodations.
  • TEAM Leaders can speak to all of their downline all at once.
  • No need to rent out a hotel conference room, in which there might be 30 people, 28 of whom are already in the business.
  • Theoretical ability to reach more people by virtue of using modern technology like streaming video and the Internet.

Here’s what I really “like” about TEAM-Casts. TEAM wants to charge people $10/head for admission.

For in home locations, without a table at the entrance, it is more difficult to collect payment from attendees. If space allows, set up a small table and collect money that way. If space doesn’t allow, set up a designated spot in your home for attendees to learn that is the place to pay and collect their weekly receipt.

Once again, TEAM demonstrates they know the MLM business really well. Let’s cut out the middleman of the hotel room and keep all the meeting profits for ourselves! Muhahaha!

The last two sentences are worth highlighting:

Your event might be really small with only 5 people or you may have 50 people, but the most important piece is to promote that this IS how we are going to go to a million people! Your location is part of a world‐wide seminar system and when you can cast that vision for your group it shows how your group is part of the overall huge vision of the TEAM.

And now we come to exactly how Orrin Woodward and TEAM will get to a million people. First, let’s connect the dots:

  • People watching on the Internet
  • People can’t see what’s not shown on camera
  • TEAM has full control over what to show and what not to show

Can anyone say digital doubles? Yes, through clever use of the Internet and special effects technology, I am hypothesizing that the way Orrin Woodward will get to a million people is by putting on a TEAM-Cast in which one million digital doubles, complete with soundtrack, will cheer him on as he speaks to you, the TEAM flock, in the privacy of your own home.

Team‐Casts

Team‐Cast is a powerful tool in helping you build a strong business. It’s important to keep in mind the viewing itself isn’t the only part that makes a Team‐Cast successful. Consider your opportunity to have top speakers who are growing right now delivering the most relevant information providing you the opportunity to take what is shared and implement in real time. With that in mind, let’s review the principles, practices and technical aspects of a Team‐Cast.

TEAM‐CAST PRINCIPLES

  1. View your Team‐Cast as a mini seminar/ open meeting location.
  2. Dress professionally
  3. It is extremely important that you have tools accessible. The speakers will be
    referencing several tools and you want them immediately available at your location.
  4. For larger locations, it is important to run these Team‐Casts as an actual event.
    1. For seminars, have stage hosts, ticket table, consignment major tickets for purchase and a tool table. All of this may seem minor, but these small details are very important when your goal is to provide a professional seminar. These steps allow you to provide a glimpse into what a big deal the team seminar system really is.
      1. Tool table: With multiple leaders from a single organization plugging into one location here is a suggestion: Have one tool table with a table worker. That person will write out receipts and he/she will be able to track which director’s group the individual purchasing is from. This step allows all directors to keep track of the tools he or she is selling that evening.
  5. The mood of the room is the key. Although this is not a live event, you can take steps to make it feel live by creating the seminar/ open meeting mood at your location. It is essential that the leaders model a learning environment as if at a live location.

TEAM‐CAST PRACTICES

  1. One week before your event make sure you thoroughly review the requirements because there are specific technical recommendations your location may need to address.
  2. Log in prior to the event and allow the background music to play. The change in music that signals the start of the event will alert the Team‐Cast attendees that the seminar is about to begin.
  3. Seminar recognition
    1. When first half recognition begins, it will start with stand up recognition for
      various levels. Have your Team‐Cast location participate in this recognition. Then watch all recognition from the big stage so your group can catch a vision for where this is going.
    2. If your Team‐Cast location is large enough, after the stand up recognition, turn down the sound and begin your location’s recognition. This is a very powerful part of the Team‐Cast experience. It allows you to recognize your teammates who are performing. It is inspirational to everyone in the room to know that your group is moving on. Use TEAM seminar recognition levels for this.
    3. When recognition ends the connector in the room has a great opportunity to promote the tools the speakers have referenced, or tools that are important to the vision of your team, and to also promote the major.
    4. Following recognition is a very critical time for your Team‐Cast. This break time should be focused on community building. At the end of the break, make sure to give a signal that the seminar will be starting soon. 10 and 5 minute intervals work well, and also allow your group to be ready when the seminar resumes.
    5. It is a nice touch to dim the lights for the second half. Since the second portion is focused around the speaker’s story, dimming the lights allows people to settle back in after a break time and put their attention on the speakers.
  4. For Open meetings in between the plan and the night owl this is a great opportunity to engage with the new people and introduce them to their community.
    1. If ok with the homeowner, keep your shoes on for the presentation. Taking your shoes off can go down the slippery slope of getting too comfortable.
    2. Set up chairs at a minimum. Be sure to have extra chairs for people arriving, but don’t get them out until they are needed.
    3. Avoid having food or drinks available during the Team‐Cast. That will only serve as a distraction during the event. If it is ok with the home owner, selling EMV is acceptable.
    4. For in‐home viewing, resist the temptation to get up and take care of other issues in the household.
    5. For in home locations, without a table at the entrance, it is more difficult to collect payment from attendees. If space allows, set up a small table and collect money that way. If space doesn’t allow, set up a designated spot in your home for attendees to learn that is the place to pay and collect their weekly receipt.
  5. After the event is finished this is also a great time to take a few minutes to give the specific vision for your team.

TEAM‐CAST TECHNICAL RECOMMENDATIONS

  1. The preferred minimum internet download speed is 1.44 Mbps (megabits per second). The recommended download speed is 2 Mbps or higher.
    1. Prior to your event, we encourage you to run an internet speed test at
      http://speedtest.net/
    2. A hard wired internet connection is recommended over a wireless connection
  2. If your projector screen is 6 feet in width:
    1. In a 100% light controlled room ‐ 1000 lumens should be sufficient
    2. In a room with some ambient light, but no direct lighting on the space you plan to project the image ‐ 1000 lumens should be sufficient
    3. In a room with the lights on, but no light directly over the area where you will project the image ‐ 1000 to 1200 lumens should be sufficient
    4. In a room with bright ambient light ‐ 1400 to 1500 lumens should be sufficient
    5. I don’t know how bright the room will be, but I do know that my image size won’t surpass six (6) feet ‐ 1500 lumens to ensure that you will overcome all lighting conditions should be sufficient
  3. If your projector screen is between (6) and eight (8) feet in width:
    1. In a 100% light controlled room ‐ 1000 to 1200 lumens should be sufficient
    2. In a room with some ambient light, but no direct lighting on the space you plan to project the image ‐ 1200 to 1400 lumens should be sufficient
    3. In a room with the lights on, but no light directly over the area where you will project the image ‐ 1300 to 1500 lumens should be sufficient
    4. In a room with bright ambient light ‐ 1500 to 1800 lumens should be sufficient
    5. I don’t know how bright the room will be, but I do know that my image size won’t surpass eight (8) feet ‐ 1800 lumens to ensure that you will overcome all lighting conditions should be sufficient
  4. If your projector screen is over eight (8) feet wide but less than ten (10) feet wide:
    1. In a 100% light controlled room ‐ 1500 lumens should be sufficient
    2. In a room with some ambient light, but no direct lighting on the space you plan to project the image ‐ 1500 to 1800 lumens should be sufficient
    3. In a room with the lights on, but no light directly over the area where you will project the image ‐ 2000 lumens should be sufficient
    4. In a room with bright ambient light ‐ 2000 to 2500 lumens should be sufficient
    5. I don’t know how bright the room will be but I do know that my image size won’t surpass ten (10) feet. ‐ 2500 lumens to ensure that you will overcome all lighting conditions should be sufficient
  5. I’m creating an image over ten (10) feet wide but less than fourteen (14) feet wide:
    1. In a 100% light controlled room ‐ 2000 lumens should be sufficient
    2. In a room with some ambient light, but no direct lighting on the space you plan to project the image ‐ 2000 to 2300 lumens should be sufficient
    3. In a room with the lights on, but no light directly over the area where you will project the image ‐ 2300 to 2700 lumens should be sufficient
    4. In a room with bright ambient light ‐ 2700 to 3200 lumens should be sufficient
    5. I don’t know how bright the room will be, but I do know that my image size won’t surpass fourteen (14) feet ‐ 3200 lumens to ensure that you will overcome all lighting conditions should be sufficient

When you first watch a Team‐Cast, you will need to be the connector from your location to the live event. This means, take the initiative in clapping and showing your enthusiasm verbally. Experience has shown that at first the crowd can be very quiet just taking in the event. Once you can get the crowd to connect with the event, your location will come alive. Spontaneous clapping and enthusiasm will erupt and your location will turn from being a group of viewers to an actual seminar location.

The most important piece of a Team‐Cast is the ability of the leader to connect the audience. This happens in many ways. Knowing one of the biggest benefits of a Team‐Cast is the opportunity to be around your own team, this gives you the advantage to connect with new distributors and guests before, during the break and after the seminar. This is a great time to be sure you are introducing key people to the newest members of the team. This allows team members to start building connections to the community quickly. It also is important for the leader to connect the tool promotion to the tools. Being able to recommend specific tools and pointing out specific tools the speakers have referenced in their talks is a huge advantage of the Team‐Cast system. You also have to connect the Team‐Cast vision to your audience.     How desperate they have become, their numbers must be flying backwards to have to charge $10 to go to someone’s house and use them for their “Team-Cast!”This is double the cost of what the opens are, but their argument will be we are saving people money, Really???
    I on a serious note would love to hear what the FTC has say about this, I don’t know but is it illegal to charge someone in their house like this???

    Yes it may save the new guy but the “leader” looks like they may have added more expenses to them by now having to buy a projector, and they are not cheap and they still have to do the traveling, collecting of money! You have got to be kidding me!!!!!!
    Anyone remember the $400 Artistry machine all the Women Leaders were expected to buy, and still NO sales!!
    This is so typical of their”instructions” CONTROL EVERYTHING IN THE ENVIROMENT, yes I know their bogus answer this is what makes it a success, but there in reality is no success, 99% lose money~Cult like tatics!

    Who would pay $10 to watch a video on a computer screen from someone else’s home? Most organizations give away webinars for FREE.

    I don’t think this is illegal, but it just shows the mind control that team has over its distributors.

    “These meetings will take us to a million people and you won’t be able to grow your business without them!!” They will hype it up and everyone will blindly follow. I will admit, Orrin and Chris do have a nice CASH COW with their team life scam.

    The opens were only free for first time quests, after that they had to pay even if they didn’t get started. All others except the speaker for that night had to pay, that is why I am curious.

    This is pure greed, anything to make a buck. That’s really unfair…house plans were free when I was in TEAM. A paid webinar. Even Monavie don’t charge for no freaking webcast. Sheesh.

    Sorry, I’m rambling…I’m just getting more and more depressed each time I read about some new stunt that woodward & co are pulling. Can’t wait til the gov’t catches up with the buggers 😦

    Every day I come to this site and I am amazed at what I am reading. It is like I am in a bad dream and can’t wake up. I feel so stupid to have believed in this business and more so in trusting Orrin and the rest of the scam artists. It does hurt, because we were close to the Woodwards and the Guzzardos and thought they were our friends. We shared a lot with them that came straight from the heart. The behavior of these so called leaders makes me ill and sorry that we ever exposed anyone to this “business”.

    I have comfort in knowing that all people willingly working with the Woodwards in scamming people will have to stand before their maker some day and answer for their actions.

    I thank the Lord daily for directing us down the road of leaving this scamming opportunity!

    Can you imagine your neighbor coming over who is on the Team and charging him 10 bucks to come in your door???? THIS IS HILARIOUS!!!!!!! I cannot believe it!!! Get charged for a webinar??? WOW. I heard about this, for men’s leadership, they go to a leaders house and pay 10 bucks. I also heard then the leader reports the amount collected to the Team office and sends it in. This just seems totally insane, to pay for a webinar!! I know they will say paying for it adds more value…..blah blah. Maybe they are trying to hide the fact that the attendence at the opens and seminars has went down drastically from 2007!! And the Team office, telling you when to CLAP, NOW THAT IS HILARIOUS!!!!!!

    These $10 webinars will pass too, as it will not work. It will not give them the effect they need to keep the illusion going, to keep people buying into the greatness of Orrin and co. Bet it will change in a few months, and they will be back to meeting in large groups.

    I agree Speak, Once again TEAM TOOLS ARE THE MAIN BUSINESS!!!! Notice in the directions above from TEAM it said “IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO HAVE TOOLS AVAILABLE….FOR SALE” hahaha very funny! THEY DIDN’T EVEN MENTION giving out monavie JUICE. Wow, I wonder if Dallin knows this?????
    IT SEEMS THEY HAVE BEEN SKIRTING THE LAW WITH THEIR TOOL BUSINESS , if IBOfightback is right. Changing it up and hiding things has been going on a long time in TEAM.

    And trust me if the leaders were not being paid on the tools and system they would not push them so much, and when someone couldn’t afford a book, they’d tell them to go to the library, or share their excess cd’s. But we were told to never to do that, it wasn’t duplicatable, and of course you would lose money!!
    I know families that cannot pay their rent/electric and move from place to place because of it, and yet they are still buying system/tools and attending seminars, years later!! THAT IS CRIMINAL!!!!!! Maybe they should take the time and money they spend chasing the TEAM SCHEME and get a second job, pay their bills and take care of their family!!! They are brainwashed by the system. SO SAD

    Quit 2… Me too. It was very very very PAINFUL to realize the evil in this business and yet I thank God for setting me free from the mind control and manipulation I was under in this business!! It is very hard to realize the friendships were all fake. That all those people that you thought cared didn’t give two sheeeets about you or your family. That they will keep their money at all costs, some even when they know what has been done. Cults use unequality in relationships by getting you to share your deepest thoughts so they can use them against you to get you to do what they want. Sound familar? It does to me. It puts us in a vulnerable position, I bet your upline never told you their personal problems??? Nope not like someone would in a real friendship, where you have an equality in the relationship. I realized this when I read the book, Combatting Cult Mind Control. It is there I realized Team uses/teaches the same techniques the Moonies use to recruit,decieve and hold people in their community. Love Bombing is used as well. We love you…..yeah right. My upline loved my work ethic and my pocket book. That is IT!!!! When I had the worst health scare in my life, our upline gurus were nowhere to be found, in fact they were actually going into our teams and slandering us! With friends like that, who needs enemies????

    “Break out?” hmm….. remember the platinum seminar that just reminded me. How Orrin & Co. planned specific meetings so that the Platinum’s that were in his group wouldn’t attend any of the Q meetings so they would attend his guru meetings, during the 3 day stay! It was a joke to the TEAM because they did not want anyone learning HOW TO SELL THE PRODUCT & GET ED. or get distracted from the way the TEAM wanted to teach! Holy Moly I forgot all about this, way back when; they were always trying to control everything and again focus on TOOL SALES! What is hiliarious is all the people wanted to cross-line! LOL

So if your mom died put a smile on your face. Give me a break. It is hard to live this fake life. Exhausting and fake is what it is. I forgot who I really was, and your opinions about anything do not matter and will not be validated even when they are right. Your right speak……..manipulation tactics is what they are. If this is so good the business would speak for itself. PERIOD and you wouldn’t need these tactics to make it grow!!! You could just show your tax returns!

    Speak , you are right lose your self esteem is what it does. Team teaches you to be dependent on someone elses thoughts, ideas and opinions (Orrin and co.) They tell you over and over (in other words) you are not smart enough, or rich enough to make your own decisions, you need to check with your upline always. And if you question their practices, you will be told you are prideful, or they will tell others your prideful. You are treated like a baby, told who you can and cannot talk to, if you should or shouldn’t buy a house, a car, etc. You will be told what type of church to go to, don’t buy a book at the bookstore,told what book to read, what cd’s to listen to, who to hang out with, how you are going to spend your time, if you could go on vacation………

    It is extemely diffi’cult’ and I really do empathize with all you say.
    The 2 things that just kill me still is the time away from our children and loved ones and those that we brought in. I really am sorry, I hope those that we brought in can forgive us. We have had a chance to say we are sorry to some but there are thousands and thank God they didn’t see it the way I felt and have accepted my appologies. It really is alot of quilt, when you are in and even worse when you get out and can see clearly. I couldn’t for almost a year even talk to those that we were directly working with at the time because it was too painful. I felt so much guilt and saddness. I have come to terms with some of it but I still have so much to accept and work on. Out of all the tragedy I have suffered in my life this has really ripped out my heart just because of those that we brought in and kept in.
    I am so sorry.

    Good way to save money for your team… invite them all over to your house, and watch the “Team-cast” together. Upline who cares about their team pays $10 total, and you have a fun filled potluck together. Then when your upline who actually has no business, but is somehow getting paid even though there are no special deals, will call wanting a number count, and you can tell him to walk across stage a phantom go-getter again because there are no numbers at your house to report. Saves money in tickets, transportation, food, and mostly the time from listening to your upline cry over how great he is at the break.

    funny thing TOD, when we joined MV instead of Wal-mart of the internet, i did what we were taught to do, and got info from someone who had fruit on the tree. I actually attended multiple Brig Hart trainings, and then used his “system” to build my business. It worked… 130 folks in less than 6 weeks. Then one day I got a call from “an upline”, wanting to know what I was doing. I told them about Brig hart, and how it was working, and that the TEAM did not have a system yet to do this, so I had to do something. Unfortunately, and quickly thereafter, “6 This” came to be, and I was told to do it the right way. Can you say momentum killer? NO wonder Brig is booming, it worked then, and still is…Any leaders in TEAM hit a new level since the moved into MV, or are they all wearing fake pins?

    I never got a reply on the costs of the webinar, but I did read the fine print and there are to be no refunds if you have technical difficulties putting on a team cast. I also want to correct myself, the cost of the website is $60 every 4 months…so that breaks down to $15/month….$180/year for access to the webisite, which is where you can buy more tools. I find it funny that you don’t need to login or be affiliated with TEAM to just buy tools from the website. Anybody can go to the site and add items to their cart. This organization is greedy.

    I wish I were kidding…and the webinar costing $10 is twice as much as the cost of an open meeting. For the average teamer and new guests, they would still have to drive to get to the upline’s home, which will add up as gas prices are ridiculous. Keep in mind these are the exact same meetings every week. Weekly opens will now cost $40 a month instead of $20. They will probably start selling projectors to distributors for $5,000 a pop and it will also be essential to building your business. I just want to add that you can have your very own team branded email for $24.99…..thats right, 25 bucks for a fancy email signature.

    I read this and had a moment, we were asked to host 2 of these in our home for our friends before we were approached to join team. Used my tv which had a monitor lookup for a computer to it, my tv is a newer lcd 46″ we hooked up the computer and used my wireless connection which is wireless n (fastest available ) I also have upgraded up and down stream speeds. We were actually asked to pay 10 dollars each to attend an event in my home and using my tv and my internet..!!! Wow was I dumb!!!

    This site has qualified many of my doubts and fears. I have always remained skeptical but I have remained. My first impression of Team was one where they were obviously promoting tools and meetings. I was invited to a seminar expecting to learn about juice. Juice was barely mentioned but there was plenty about the food we eat, the information we’re fed, the opportunities we may have missed, the relationships we ought to make better. Then the tool table was opened at the break. Yep – there’s the business! The line was unbelievable!
    I know that Team has never offered me the whole truth. I know the tools business and meetings are incredibly lucrative for the Team office. 25 seminars a month at 100-2000 people per event times $25-$35 a ticket. Let’s use the seminar I infrequently attend. It has around 300 people. 300x25x30 That’s $2.7M a year. This doesn’t include the webcasts. Seminar webcasts require a ticket. Men’s/Women’s Leadership webcasts are $10 with a minimum number of attendees. Opens are webcast on tuesday. New people are free. Business owners are $5 with a recommended minimum. The last month of a “major” leadership, the seminar was only available through webcast. That rubbed me the wrong way. Their stated reasoning is that the smaller venues promote the sense of community and limit cross lining opportunities. It allows less time in cars to go to a meeting out of town. I agree with them as a tool. Anyone “in” would be spending the money anyway but, now, they don’t have to add gas, meals and accommodation to their expenses. Of course the host has accounting to do and money is sent to the team office. There’s lots of room for abuses. The leaderships aren’t webcast. This (of course) gives the “big picture” – right? The leaderships are four times a year at 7000-10000 people paying $125 each is around $4.25M a year. The seven PC couples could buy nice suits and keep their rings shiny dividing that much up between them.
    I wanted you guys to have more information. A lot of posts here take a snippet of info and swing for the bleachers. I don’t think it’s possible to hit one out of the park if you’re swinging with a birch branch.
    I’d also like to add to what’s discussed here about the L.I.F.E. business. The PC are launching this as a new MLM style business. You’ve already learned a bit about the products. It’s mainly system style teachings in a subscription for customers and distributors. The point values on this coaching and bonuses promise to be lucrative based on a previous pay plan modified. The Team system will also remain. It will focus on teaching the community building. After all, “it’s communities through which products and services flow.” Mona Vie will also remain as the partner in the fitness category of the 8Fs of L.I.F.E.. The relationship is touted as win-win.
    I’ve refused to talk to anyone about joining me in the L.I.F.E. business until I see how their policies and procedures document compares to the MV policies. TheTeam speakers have often skipped inconvenient parts of the MV P&P. I signed up to be a Mona Vie distributor and subject to their rules including not selling products of other MLMs within time and distance restrictions and getting rid of 70% of product before the next order.
    I know what’s changed in my life since signing up has had a price. But, since I have never been a very good Team member, it hasn’t been too crazy. I have made note of many of the inconsistency in stories from leaders as they relate to the shift from Quixtar to MV. I have plotted out what it would take to get where I want to go and priced it all out not including any profit sharing. The numbers say it could be worth it if I use the MLM positives of serving my group and building depth with Team Approach. Those of you who have shown this plan and seen growth will know that a system does leverage the opportunity for an individual. You’ll understand that a positive culture can develop a strong team. I’ve seen these teams. I believe in their results. But, I don’t know the rest of the costs that you’ve had.
    I haven’t been able to fully trust the Team leaders. The stories have changed a bit. My Turbo 25 and up has been one of the recently disappeared. The absence of the Dickie family is a huge question mark. The use of a few speakers more often has been of concern considering the touted “speakers chosen by merit” policy. There’s one or two couples that haven’t been in the running for Top Gun recently that still seem to be favorites. Some styles of the RT/PC speakers have changed. A little more posture than transferring a feeling. Yes, there have been retirements. There have been rank advancements. I’ve seen growth. But, yes, more emphasis has been on team levels.
    The shift of Team away from juice has been freaking me out. The tool table has always freaked me out (but I’ve loved many books in system that I bought elsewhere). The monthly seminars – even in leadership months – has always seemed greedy. The seminars never really delivered the information I’d hoped for. Ticket holder meetings were mainly rallies. Not knowing the profit sharing plan, director, round table and policy council qualifications has always made me feel like something was being hidden from us. Names from CDs never being at functions like the Cullens, Haugens, Morgans, Hubers, Goetschels, Fooses, Joneses, Libbys, Smiths, Cullens, Freezes, Abrahams etc has left so many questions. I’ve always been held back by holes in the information. I’ve never wanted to pass this on to someone else. Although I still see it as an opportunity – I don’t want to be responsible for getting someone else involved without all the questions answered. My direct upline doesn’t have any more information than I do. The mentor that has been offered to us when the other vanished seems nervous about deviating from the script. “Follow the pattern. Go go getter to power player to turbo to RT to PC. Read the books. Listen to the CDs. Go to everything you qualify for.” Yep – it’s cult like. But the first law of networking also applies. “No one will do anything. Ever!” So Team is not quite a cult. It’s a tool moving machine…. “Stock that trunk!”
    I agree with the theme here that power is a motivator at the top of Team. I know people have to have their heads screwed on and their eyes open. I don’t think that people should dismiss it based on partial information but you absolutely mustn’t get started with only partial information. Don’t they say that in the plan? Systems and a change in thinking are necessary to get from the left side to the right side of the quadrant. Team may not be the the vehicle. Orrin is what he is. I think time will shed light into the shadows and we’ll all have answers. I believe there’s value in the pattern, the approach and the self improvement but I recognize there’s a resonance with the feelings stirred by what’s happened to people here and my intuition. Hard to ignore. Hard to ignore.

    I found your comments very interesting. Do they still continue to use these CD’s by these leaders in their system and if they do they would continue to use leaders that have left and make money off of their talks? I find that disturbing and they are down right decieving people. If those Leaders were allowed to remake those and WOULD tell the Truth of why they left and what they know, I guarantee you, they wouldn’t be selling them!

    How do they explain they are no longer there, with the exception of the “Hubers” or are they not there any more? You have good reason to believe things are being hidden, because they are and if you know these people aren’t at the Major’s, why don’t you ask your upline’s-upline why you never see these people on stages? Any legitimate business who wouldn’t be intentionally deceiving, would tell you the truth, especially knowing without TRUST they will have nothing. Chris Brady did a talk from the book, “The Speed of Trust.” They are a piece of work.

    You also made a comment on it being a cult, I would recommend reading; “Cults In Our Midst” by Margaret Singer w/ Janja Lalich and you could go to Freedom of Mind website and read the BITE model.

    I have no doubts you will figure this out and have regonized the dangers because you are very aware of the many, many things that are signs and red flags. Do not let your guard down or ignore your gut and some point when you get tired of not getting truthful, straight answers to your questions you will make a decision that will protect you and your future.

    Another thing, this site is loaded with thousands of comments, it will save you years of heartache and loss if you continue to read and decide for yourself, whether you see what is being said is what you see happening. I have no doubts you will. It is impossible to get all the information on here in one post.

    One last thing, I believe it would pay you immensely to read the link on here from the FTC article. You stated you don’t want to bring anyone else in, that is a very wise decision and will save you tremendous regrets and pain.

    Good luck and you are very fortunate to see what you are, most are not that aware (read up on cults) and see what you do, until long after the damage is done. I hope you continue to comment.

    Amthrax – I appreciate the welcome and your encouragement. I’ve poked around quite a few of the threads and followed some of the links that have been posted. I still have the impulse for self improvement and still like the concept of MLMs. The leadership of Team mainly says the right stuff. I even think they still believe what they say about leadership and self improvement. I believe they believe they’ve developed a repeatable pattern for building a community. But I have also believed there has always been too much information left out. I have always wondered what was happening in their accounting of numbers when leaders disappeared. I often wondered what they were filtering when you could almost here the click of the filter go on during a talk.
    Speak Your Truth – I got those names from a handful of CDs my sponsor gave me in 2008. I think they were old even then. They were never available for me to buy. I’m not sure about the Hubers now that you point that out. I can’t put faces to their name which is how they got onto my list. My upline gets information from the system although they do go to more functions I don’t expect they can answer the questions you’ve suggested. I can go to my RT but don’t expect to get their time without results. I suppose I could go to my PC. He has a nationally recognized blog with an e-mail address. I’ve played with the idea of getting in touch with some of the missing leaders in order to hear their stories. I know of one place some of them might be on Sunday mornings.
    The hardest part about letting this go is “then what?” While I’ve never hitched my wagon to theirs, I always had the idea that I might jump on when my questions got answers. That leaves me pretty vulnerable but always eyes wide open.

    @Hershall – Self-improvement is a great thing. The problem in TEAM is that its members replace the original goal of making money with the goal self-improvement. TEAM is not required for self-improvement, although the TEAM leadership seems to argue otherwise.

    Then what, you ask? Educate yourself. Learn a trade, turn a hobby into a business. Look around your metro area and see what is being under-served; find a need and fill it. If your goal is to maximize your dollar, there are so many financial blogs out there about saving money. Start at Lazy Man’s site (http://lazymanandmoney.com) and check out his blogroll links.

    TEAM LIFE talks big about building leaders. That’s great and all, but every leader needs a lot of followers (or employees in a traditional business) to fulfill his or her plans. To me, TEAM LIFE is better at making followers than it is at making leaders. There’s proof too. Look at the number of people in TEAM who are job optional. As you’ve pointed out in your other comment, there aren’t that many.

    Everyone – The Kroc’s legacy includes getting kids hooked on bad nutrition, mounds of garbage in municipal dumps etc.. The Walton legacy includes empty downtowns, cheap disposable goods bought on credit by those who shouldn’t be out shopping on tuesday night etc.. There’s some bad in every success story. What really gets under my skin with the Team and so many current business practices is the lack of transparency and disregard for every stakeholder. There’s no taking responsibility and no apparent remorse. With Team, the playing with people’s hopes and aspirations is the least human thing a person can do.

    Whoa! I can say I have seen a clear violation of the rules at EVERY webcast I have been to.

    Dress professionally….typically the only ones who were dressed well were the ones coming home from their jobs where they were trading time for money at their loser jobs. Saw a lot of jeans, t-shirts and women in flip flops at webcasts.

    No food or drink except for EMV….yeah right. I have seen hosts have tea, coffee, soft drinks, cheese, chips, cookies, soylent green….

    Don’t take your shoes off during the presentation…every woman at the webcasts I have been to have taken their shoes off at the webcasts, I have even seen some women at a Tuesday night open take off their heels as they sit through the meeting.

    So who can I report these obvious transgressions too? surely there will be consequences for these TEAMers who broke the rules. I want justice, I want Thunderdome!

    Who is in charge of TEAM secret police because I have about 30 names I need to report.
