New Black Diamond, Maria Carreon, Formerly From Agel, But Where’s Grant?

June 29, 2011

Maria Carreon and Grant Ferguson

At MonaVie’s Imagine conference a few weeks ago, the company recognized the accomplishments of new Black Diamond Maria Carreon. Does her name sound familiar? That’s because I wrote about her way back in 2009. Back then, Maria wasn’t building the business all by herself; she was doing it with Grant Ferguson. They were Diamonds in Agel who joined MonaVie when their upline, Randy and Tara Schroeder, jumped ship. So what happened to her partner/husband, Grant Ferguson? There used to be a page on them on MonaVie Media Center, but it is no longer available (here is a cached version of it)? Did they divorce, break up, or did he pass away?

I watched Carreon’s Black Diamond documentary, and there’s no mention of Grant. She talks about providing for her family, but that’s about it. Even her past MLM history is brushed under the table with, “One day, I met someone who invited me to a meeting.” Furthermore, with the whole video in Spanish, it seems like she’s been in Mexico building this business from day one. There is a brief mention of Grant on the Mexico Grand Opening post, but in their Blue Diamond writeup, they were listed as being from Calgary, Alberta in Canada. Make sense to move the business down south, since it appears internationally is the only place where MonaVie is experiencing any solid growth these days.

Sigh. This is yet one more example how Black Diamonds are manufactured more than they are built from the ground-up.

I think I failed to see the point to this article? Did you want her to explain her entire history in network marketing in detail? Or maybe she should provide you with family history? How is she a manufactured black diamond? Did she sign up and they said we’re giving you this title? What about the other black diamonds mentioned at the conference? Were they all “manufactured”?

So if you’ve had previous success in other network marketing companies should you never be recognized? Really.. I see no point to anything you said. Just sounds like bitter ranting.

@Tina – She’s a manufactured Black Diamond because she likely brought a large portion of her Agel downline with her to MonaVie. This provided her with a much quicker path to Black Diamond than someone starting at 0. If she, in her speeches, touts that “if I can do this business, so can you,” she is being disingenuous. Look at Robert Dean – manufactured Black Diamond who later jumped ship to multiple MLMs after joining MonaVie from Tahitian Noni. Look at Orrin Woodward. Black Diamond in what, three months, after over a decade in Amway/Quixtar. There are a number of Black Diamonds in MonaVie who did not start from scratch.

First I don’t know anything about this particular person,it could be anyone, it doesn’t matter it all applies.

The point should be crystal clear on the ‘past history’, If you have ever been involved with any MLM, and built any sizable teams, you should know that the entire business is built on getting others to ‘BELIEVE’ they can do it. That is why they have seminars, weekly meetings,cd’s, and major conventions and constantly want to immerse people in the group hype and talk about the BEST BUSINESS whatever one they are currently promoting.

The ‘HOW’ to of any MLM business isn’t that complex and can be learned verily quickly, it’s the ‘WHY’ that they spend all their time on convincing others with! Another major factor is TRUST in any endeavor or relationship. So, if people are sending the message they walked into a MLM and WALA they are Black Diamond 3 months later or whatever, WITHOUT disclosing that they brought their group to the new MLM and that is how they went Black Diamond or any other rank, then that would be DECEPTIVE and breaks TRUST, this should be common sense and a no brainer if you have an ounce of integrity.

Where we came from they beat the ‘proven duplicatable system’ to death and this is not duplicatable for anyone with an exception I will get to.

That is the reason they SHOW CASE these LIFESTYLES or have recognition is to spread the BELIEF to the new person and all they have to continue to convince. And if they hype the crowd with you can do what we did, JUST FOLLOW WHAT WE DID, that too would be deceptive, because until someone gets their group big enough and then leaves with their downline to another competing MLM, they can’t claim it is duplicatable! They can HONESTLY say, the system is proven or they did what their ‘upline’ did to get where their upline got! Is it becoming clear?

What message does this send to their dowline groups they brought with them? You don’t think the people in their group and ALL the others that have been in the existing ‘new MLM” are sitting there listening to their upline imply they built their New MLM and THEY KNOW BETTER, it would be delusional to think they don’t have the thoughts or think they are misleading others?

We know this from our experience and what our upline’s did! How does this build TRUST and where’s the INTEGRITY AND DUPLICATABLE PROVENESS OF THE SYSTEM they tout? That to me is the point, doesn’t matter what MLM, OR WHATEVER Leader or any of the other details, it is misleading, deceptive, and breaks trust!

SYT- You are right on about trust and deception.

When you can convince others that the best thing to do is to follow blindly and “just do what they (upline) have done,” you start down that slippery slope. Most of the time these are friends that you bring into this cesspool, so naturally they trust that you will steer them in the right direction. When in reality all you are doing is lining your pocket or the pockets of your upline.

The next thing you know you are placing personal orders downline to bolster your GV so you can advance in rank, or convincing others that they should purchase extra to build their business. Either way you will benefit fromm the volume.

In my case it was suggested that I purchase a Beauty Break Kit from Amway, because I would need it to do beauty breaks in my team. It was implied that once you reached a certain rank you could no longer borrow your uplines equipment. So we bought the kit and a month later we were leaving Amway. Total cost was almost $2,000. We are still using it for Christmas gifts.

Sorry to hear about your Beauty Break Kit, people spent $400 on those machines also that was more losses. Oh but it is an ‘investment’, yea a BAD ONE like the entire MLM ‘investment’ for over 99%.

Doesn’t matter how crafty they slice it, they intentionally do not disclose things. Commenter- Team Deception put a link to the MV IDS, take a look. In my opinion, if it weren’t for deception, MLM wouldn’t exist; they know this, almost the entire industry at least the ones that make their money by endlessly recruiting; is based on not allowing people full disclosure to make an informed decision. They resort to, creating Diversions, Distracting away from facts, complex pay plans, that they only point to the TOP incomes, to play on the greed and fantansies of others, never speak about the obvious; the true numbers, use Stop thinking techniques, play on emotion’ etc., by convincing them they will get a passive residual income, wealthly lifestyles, Walk the Beaches of the World, will be able to ‘fire their boss’ , on and on .Orrin calls this being dealers in HOPE (false hope is the real truth) that everyone can and will if they follow the ‘proven system and do what they have done’ get all their dreams and goals, in a business where over 99% fail?

You will get, every goal and dream, dating clear back to the time you were ‘dreaming’ in your mother’s womb, LHOL (laugh hysterically out loud)! It really is sad.

When you are away from the indoctrination long enough to see those ‘pesky little facts’, read tons of stories of personal experiences and Loses, Damages to people’s spirits etc, you see it is worse than just spreading (false) hope, that it has and continues to seriously destroy and damage others lives. They play with people’s lives, knowing these facts, and will be accountable eventually. You cannot seriously screw people over to this degree and expect people to sit back and take it.

It really blows my mind still at how they haven’t figured out that HONESTY is ALWAYS the BEST POLICY and without TRUST you have NOTHING and will lose everything based on what they continue to do. It is amazing the ego’s that fly. They are seriously delusional when they think they can control people. Slander, Spread lies about others, accuse them of not being ‘Christian’ then continue on as if they are spotless? Unbelievable! They lip service a lot but their actions speak WAY louder than their words, and honestly it just keeps getting uglier.

They are being figured out. The supposed ‘leaders’ in the industry are turning and bashing each other. Where’s the plagiarized PDCA? They haven’t even attempted to correct the core problem, and ignoring it WON’T make it go away. I am extremely thankful to be gone and also have many regrets for participating, and falling for the lies and deception. Guess lesson repeated, until lesson learned for those who continue!

Here is an intersting ‘law.’ they applied when destroying our group, slandering us and others. Wonder when their paranoia over took them to think we were ‘enemies?’
Also interesting how ‘focused’ they are about ‘silencing the critic and past.’

    Law 15

    Crush your Enemy Totally

All great leaders since Moses have known that a feared enemy must be crushed completely. (Sometimes they have learned this the hard way.) If one ember is left alight, no matter how dimly it smolders, a fire will eventually break out. More is lost through stopping halfway than through total annihilation: The enemy will recover, and will seek revenge. Crush him, not only in body but in spirit.

Funny you mention PDCA and palagerism in the same sentence. When I first heard it I thought and believed it was something that the “turd” thought up. Then I listened to an older Success Magazine CD and low & behold I actually heard Darren Hardy mention a form of PDCA on the CD.

Now I have been “system” free for almost 2 yrs and am getting better leadership materials from the original sources, Maxwell, Rohn,Tracy and others not related to TEAM, and guess what it is FREE to my email every week.

    Thank you for your time.

Chuckles~ I put them in the same sentence intentionally because it isn’t Orrin’s ‘genius’ he stole it but tries to claim it as ‘his own’. Here is one link: Anyone who has been in manufacturing probably already knows this. 🙂
What? You are getting ‘leadership’ infor. for free?! Are you serious? Hahahaha!

Switch~ LHOL, I know what you mean! pretty sick eh?
