Another Black Diamond Leaves MonaVie for Visalus

August 23, 2011

Joining former R3Global and MonaVie Black Diamond Rick Gutman in Visalus are Brian and Jill Cattano. There was a post about this on the Business For Home website nearly two months ago, but there were few comments either confirming or denying this. I recently received an email saying that Brian and Jill have been very active on their Facebook page promoting Visalus. Here’s a YouTube video from Brian and Jill:

The email also mentioned that one of Brig Hart’s right-hand men, Tim Gidley, has also moved over to Visalus. Tim in fact recently hit the Ambassador level in Visalus, meaning he got the BMW and a check for $25K. Apparently, if you refer six people who refer three people, you qualify for a $600 car payment credit. According to the email, Brig always talked about how he and Gidley were loyal to each other; somehow I don’t think that’s the case anymore.

In the video, Brian and Jill mentioning wanted to achieve goals that they couldn’t from their current company. Are they saying that things aren’t going well in the land of the acai berry? Brian talks about how with Visalus you can refer three people and get your products for free (Visalus compensation plan). Hmmm… haven’t I heard this one before? Orrin Woodward’s LIFE is pitching the same thing. Maybe this “Three for Free” is the new fad of the moment for MLM companies.

I wonder how many other leaders within MonaVie or R3Global are thinking of jumping ship to another MLM. And, to counter the outward stem of leadership, what is MonaVie going to do about it?

Three for Free has been around since 1994 when ForMor and ProSTEP introduced it. However, in most cases it doesn;t mean your card stops getting charged, it just means you have enough commissions rolling to offset the cost.

At ProSTEP we stopped charging the cards period, and used earned commissions to cover the cost of the membership.

The message is a good one for product driven companies. But it will be interesting to see if organizations focused on pure internal consumption uses the message as intended.

I don’t think that the intent of the article was to discuss the merits of this new way of ripping people off, but to show how people at the top of these scams jump around in order to get the best bang for YOUR buck.

I appreciate that the Qrush blog needs to focus on Orrin but we also need to ensure that the rest of this site doesn’t turn into a MLM advocacy site as this was never Amthrax’s intent.

    Good Comment Troy.

Based on conversations I’ve had with ex TEAM’ers, it would appear that internal consumption is the raison d’etre.

Product should not be the also ran in a business. If you don’t have product, then you don’t have a business because in spite of all sorts of motivation, lack of product movement = lack of income.

TEAM has put an interesting twist on it in that their “leadership” is the primary focus and the product is there seemingly for no other reason than to make it legal.

It is bound for failure simply because there are too many questions about TEAM that Woodward, Brady et al don’t have any interest in answering. If your business depends on you controlling the message rather than it existing on its own merits then you never had a worthwhile or ethical business to begin with.

There are many people out there that would consider Woodward and his ilk to be dishonest and unethical because of the manner in which they choose to conduct their business.

Woodward cannot and therefore will not debate the ethics of his actions publicly.

These “diamond” yahoos are just helping prove the point that these “businesses” are unsustainable. Passive income, yeah right.

I just saw this webpage claiming that Brig Hart is getting out of Monavie too.

Haven’t had a chance to dig into this yet, but for what it’s worth, here’s the link.

…..as Brig rides off into the sunset, raising his hand in air saying he made a difference. What a great guy. I can just feel the love.

I wonder if the rascal’s are jotting notes down for their book?

If this is true, what does that say about the R3Global’s Diamond Runners program to produce hundreds of Black Diamonds and thousands of Diamonds?

Brig does like his toy’s, too bad he just don’t brand them with velcro so when he jumps ship the replacement logos will be easy to change over. Can’t help but wonder how the religion hype will be changed to justify it.

Other than that one site I havent seen anything else to indicate “Big Fart has blown out of Mona Vie”, (Been waiting for years to use that one) ;-). If it’s really true the house of cards is coming down, though I still feel like a dumbass for believing the hype he spouted.

It was well worth the wait to use that term Burned Out! 🙂 I haven’t heard much else either. Vogel was going to be looking into it though…

    ViSalus actually uses REAL 3-for-free.

As in, refer three customers, and you get product for free. Not sure how the commissions work for that (didn’t do that much research into their comp plan) but no charging of credit card. As in, “really free” and not “the commissions pay for it.”

Very few companies do the “really free” part. They use the word “free” loosely to show that you can get in at no cost, but they still charge you.

It’s basically “reimbursement” for most companies.

Sure, my landlord will pay for repairs on my dishwasher, but repairing it isn’t free for me. I pay for it and my landlord reimburses me.

    Same concept.

ViSalus actually employs REAL free, for which I commend them.

What kind of people are these? Randy, etc. spoke with such fervency that I believed him and quit my job to focus on “the best business opportunity that had ever existed.”
Suddenly he jumps ship for MV, a juice MLM. Then “Visalus”, next LIFE!

What a creep! Selfish fraud who has no conscience about all the people left behind.

It is sick that Orrin knew we had only a .001% of making it to Founders Emerald ( in his lawsuit ) yet he kept telling us for years it was the best business! So much deception!

I think he wrote a note to DeVoss in 2004/05. He sure kept collecting his tool money! An Emerald only mafe $80, 000…..that’s not mich after expenses but of course they made a hell of a lot more $$$ from the tool incomes!! In fact in Team that’s where their lifestyles came from!
