Video Blast from the Past: Orrin Woodward on Quixtar

August 24, 2011

Published back in 2008, this video has clips from an undated speech by Orrin Woodward talking about Quixtar. After 25 seconds, there is a discussion about why Orrin joined MonaVie (for the tools, not the juice). Fast forward to the 6:53 mark, and the video returns to Orrin’s concluding speech.

Some choice Orrin quotes from the video:

  • “World-class products brought to you at world-class prices.”
  • “Quixtar and the IBOs together. On our way to the largest corporation in the world! IN THE WORLD! We’re gonna do it! We’re gonna do it! You’re gonna do it!”
  • “We have the greatest opportunity… not a good one… the best one… the best one.”
  • “Paddle the canoe!”

We all know that Orrin changed his mind about Quixtar, but I’d like to know when was this video taken? Orrin said that he knew the business was selling overpriced products three years before he was terminated. Was this video taken during those three years? If so, does it seem odd for him to stand up in front of tens of thousands of people and say those things? Just a couple of years ago, wasn’t MonaVie the greatest opportunity in the world? Isn’t LIFE now the greatest opportunity in the world?

Watching videos like these only reinforces the point that many MLMs are built not on sound financial and business principles, but on hope. Orrin himself is quoted in the Forbes article that “…leaders are dealers in hope,” and, “What I try to give most of all is hope and encouragement.”

In his latest blog post, Orrin continues to push the hope argument, “Hope is the only fuel capable of burning through both types of pain.” He describes two types of pain. One internal as a result of the change process (of becoming better) and the second being generated from critics who, according to Woodward, are unwilling to change themselves.

If he’s referring to the critics on this blog, he’s got it all wrong. Ex-TEAM members have changed from being brainwashed followers of Orrin’s every word and become independent, critical thinkers again.

Hope is a good thing to have. But it’s nothing without action. It’s my opinion, and the opinions of many others, that hope doesn’t come in a $40 bottle of juice, nor does it come with spending hundreds of dollars on leadership tools and seminar tickets. Save your money, eat real fruits, and read books on improving your life from multiple sources. If you want to improve your finances, there are many other ways to do it than through an MLM such as MonaVie or LIFE.

    Excellent article Amthrax!

Wanna know what I hope? I hope that all of these scam MLMs get shut down lickety split. I would venture to say that MOST MLMs are not built on sound financial, business and ethical practices. I say this from experience and from my research on the “business” (cough cough sputter sputter gag) of MLM.

I also hope that Mr. Woodward is brought DOWN in the very near future so that my friends on this site can get some closure (although many of them will never recover what they have lost), and so that I can believe that justice does exist in this world.

LOL. Paddle the canoe! That makes me laugh every time.

The one good thing I will say about Woodward is his speaking has gotten a lot less militant over the years.

LOL. Good video, and it’s interesting to hear Orrin say what needs to be said at the time in order to succeed.

A trait that he belittles at every opportunity.

Lyk, problem is that’s not was Orrin and the rest of PC are doing. Nothing they are going to release is new stuff. it’s simply rebranded (see new label) on old stuff. By whose definition is LIfE better than the best? The only people that are telling you that are the ones who are going to profit off your hard work.

I just suggest that you continue reading as much on this blog as possible.

    Thought this would fit here.
Check this out from the Pokorny v. Quixtar Class Action Settlement .
Notice the part that says up to $ 2,000 refund for the purchase of business support materials and up to $10,000 if you filed bankruptcy or lost more than $10,000 which would almost be everyone I know! For newbies this is where Orrin Woodward started and ran his Team tool support business through Sept. 2007. I will be spreading the word to my former Team mates who will never sue Team, to help them recoup some of the money they spent on the deception Orrin /Team perpetuated on them while in Quixtar in my opinion and apparently a courts.

Personally, I will be consulting an attorney about possibly taking myself OUT OF the class to keep my rights to sue Orrin and Team, if I should chose to do so in the future. Maybe we could get an opinion by our trusted readers on that option, for leaders that were screwed over by Orrin and Co? I have to say I am super excited that my downline may be able to recupirate some of their money! I wonder if Team and Orrin Woodward, with their deceptive business practices and stacking were a huge liability to Quixtar? For God’s sake, we were taught never mention the Quixtar name from a TEAM stage in recruiting meetings and seminars on the business!

Here is part of a letter a “friend” gave me.
“……If You Were an Amway/Quixtar Distributor at Any Time Between
January 1, 2003 and February 21, 2012 You Could Get Benefits from a Settlement.

“…. A lawsuit was filed against Quixtar, Inc., (“Quixtar”) over its pricing of goods and its recruitment of Quixtar distributors, whom the company calls “Independent Business Owners” (“IBOs”). Quixtar denies that it did anything wrong. The Settlement includes $34 million in cash, $21 million (retail value) in free products, and a legal commitment from Quixtar that it will change certain business practices. Go to for more information and to file a claim online.

    Who’s Included?
You are included in the Settlement if at any time between January 1, 2003 and February 21, 2012, you were an IBO or a legal entity through which an IBO conducted a Quixtar-related business.

    What Can You Get?
Former IBOs who quit Quixtar before February 21, 2012 may be eligible to receive a cash payment and/or free products. Former IBOs may be eligible to get (1) up to $75 in free products if you paid a registration fee which was not refunded and if you did not renew your Quixtar distributorship; (2) up to $2,000 to repay you for the purchase of business support materials, and (3) up to $10,000 if you lost more than $10,000 or filed for bankruptcy because of your participation as an IBO. Current IBOs are not eligible to receive compensation from the Settlement, however, they will benefit from certain business reforms.

    How to Get Benefits?
You must submit a Claim Form to get benefits. The Claim Form is available at or by calling 1-888-334-6149. You can submit a Claim Form online or by mail. The deadline to submit a Claim Form is August 17, 2012….”

Webelieved – I agree. It would be nice for someone to post an attorney’s recommendation about opting out of the class-action suit. My problem was never with Amway/Quixtar. although, I agree they could have done more to stop orrin. I don’t think they had any idea how deep his lies were. Orrin is the master spinmeister.
Team and Orrin should be the ones paying the largest part of the penalties, not Amway/Quixtar. It was Team & Orrin who were using Amway/quixtar as a ‘front’ and not telling people what they were really in

Unfortunatly a whole lot of Quixtar tool companies are the same as Team. Orrin learned it all from Dexter Jaeger. The company knew what he was doing and looked the other way until the heat got too hot in the kitchen in my opinion. Quixtar was making a boat load of money off the sale of the products in Team. From what I saw, they knew most of what he was doing. They all are at fault as well in my opinion. I agree with you I am not going to give up my rights to go after Orrin and Team as that is where my beef is as well. He trained everyone, lied and decieved all of us, knowing full well what he was doing. He is still lying and making deceptive promises and using deceptive spin to make his money off the masses. I want full disclosure and him to have to stop lying to people!

Here is more information that the readers may find helpful:

    Client Settlement Site: ‘

Interesting, I haven’t dug in too much yet, or what happens if you do or don’t ‘opt’ out. Here is the most interesting part, the tool companies that are listed; notice the “TEAM” or Signature Management Team is not listed?

I also don’t think this would have anything to do with someone suing Orrin or the Team.

Orrin tries to convince everyone he was the ‘hero’ for going up against who he called “Goliath”, but I am sure he knew about this lawsuit…but what was the real reason? I ask who got the results…. for the masses to boot? Who are the real hero’s?

Huge Kudos to the attorneys and more to the courageous Porkorny (the real heros), who went up against them and WON!!!! Thank YOU!! It is an extremely justified and satisfying that many people will at least gain some of what they have lost back! This is a huge victory and it will be interesting what this case will spur on, it could be the beginning of some real justice.

Orrin and the PC.. were too busy creating ‘chaos’ and ‘ordering’ people ( playing gangster.. games) to screw their own downlines…. in the registration and other shenanigans, trying to meet HIS recruiting goals to collecting HIS 3 million dollar (no obligation to pay back) “loan” and ‘trying’ to save His “pyramid scheme” (Forbes) and not ‘losing it all’ (I believe TEAM tool scam was hanging in the balance during this) but told the masses, His version to make it his ‘heroic’ story.

Oh funny, one last thing…did Orrin get this same letter and will he now go for getting some money back???

I am with you both, our beef isn’t there, and am still waiting….to see those who are sitting back but should be held more accountable!

(no obligation to pay back IF recruiting was met) at least the way I understood from the article.
