“Freedom” Through Compliance and Conformity
Today is the launch of Orrin Woodward’s LIFE business. While he and his TEAM organization call it a brand-new business, it’s really just the same thing that they’ve been doing for nearly two decades. Instead of selling purple juice concentrate or vitamins, energy drinks and home-care products, LIFE members are selling re-branded TEAM tools in an internal-consumption pyramid scheme.
LIFE followers write about re-igniting freedom across America with a business opportunity selling CDs, books and seminars focusing on the 8F’s: Fitness, Finances, Following, Faith, Freedom, Family, Friends and Fun. Within this business opportunity, LIFE proponents say that one can retire from a job, bring the spouse home from work, buy whatever you want, whenever you want, and have the luxury of time.
When I look at LIFE’s Policies and Procedures, compensation plan, and calendar of events documents, however, I see a shocking lack of freedom, time and money to be made.
As previously pointed out in Section 9.2 of the P&P, a LIFE member’s business can be taken away at a whim’s notice by the LIFE company. Furthermore, such “disciplinary” action may be taken due to the actions of a LIFE member’s family, regardless of whether or not those family members are in the business:
3.22 – Actions of Household Members or Affiliated Parties
If any member of a Member’s immediate family or any individual residing with a Member engages in any activity which, if performed by the Member, would violate any provision of the Agreement, such activity will be deemed a violation by the Member and LIFE may take disciplinary action against the Member pursuant to the Policies and Procedures.
Talk about guilt by association. So, suppose a family member is against LIFE, what’s a LIFE member going to do? Sounds to me like the LIFE member will have to sever ties to that family member.
Consider the 8F’s when looking through the prism of LIFE:
- Fitness: Drink $140/month cases of MonaVie juice.
- Family: Your new family is your LIFE family.
- Friends: Your friends only exist in LIFE.
- Fun: Attending seminars, meetings and Major Conferences are considered your new fun.
- Following: The only people you follow are Orrin Woodward, the LIFE Policy Council members, and whoever they cart out on stage at Major Functions.
- Faith: You will be strongly encouraged to become a Christian.
- Finances: You will spend hundreds of dollars of month trying to make money in a LIFE business whose odds are stacked against you.
- Freedom: The freedom you get from participating in LIFE is only achieved through compliance and conformity to Orrin Woodward.
Does this sound like freedom to you? In my opinion, the answer is a resounding no. Many people on this site agree with me, and they used to be faithful followers of TEAM and Orrin Woodward. What happened to them is that they saw the light and realized that Orrin Woodward is not a leadership guru but a scammer and charlatan. Analyzing the LIFE compensation plan and reading the fine print of the Policies and Procedures documents makes this crystal, one hundred percent clear.
LIFE members who don’t agree with me must heed the following stipulations in the P&P when posting a comment on this site:
184.108.40.206 – Responding to Negative Posts
Do not converse with one who places a negative post against you, other independent Members, or LIFE. Report negative posts to the Company at corpsupport@the-life- business.com. Responding to such negative posts often simply fuels a discussion with someone carrying a grudge that does not hold themselves to the same high standards as LIFE, and therefore damages the reputation and goodwill of LIFE.
I’m surprised there isn’t a stipulation that prohibits LIFE members from reading negative posts in the first place. Then again, if that clause existed, it would cause Orrin Woodward and his policy council members, like Mr. Strategic Default, to be in violation of their own policies. After all, much of what they’ve written in recent weeks appears to be in response to posts and comments on this site.
Finally, if a LIFE member does choose to violate 220.127.116.11 and post here, note that he or she is required to identify yourself:
18.104.22.168 – Identification as an Independent LIFE Member
You must disclose your full name on all Social Media postings, and conspicuously identify yourself as an independent Member for LIFE. Anonymous postings or use of an alias is prohibited.
Don’t follow the example of Orrin Woodward and post anonymously as Qrush!
