MonaVie Issues Memo Regarding Line Switching and Cross Sponsoring
MonaVie corporate recently released an email to
all1 distributors regarding line switching and cross sponsoring. Could this mean some distributors have been re-arranging their downline trees in order for them (or select distributors) to qualify for bonuses that they ordinarily would not qualify for?
I would be interested in learning which distributors get penalized by MonaVie’s purported zero tolerance policy. Would Black Diamonds get the same treatment as a low-level distributor?
Here’s the full email, along with links to MonaVie’s policies:
Reinforcement of Policies Governing Line Switching and Cross Sponsoring
Dear Valued MonaVie Distributor,
From time to time, it becomes necessary for us to bring to the attention of all MonaVie distributors certain policies and procedures that are fundamental to the integrity and longevity of our business. Protecting the integrity of the distributor tree and the benefits you derive from your position in the tree must be one of our collective and highest priorities. Therefore, we are emailing you to re-emphasize our firm commitment to two policies that will help ensure such protection.
Clarifying Compliance Briefs
Below are links to two newly drafted MonaVie Compliance Briefs that will provide clarity to the topics of Line Switching and Cross Sponsoring.
As clearly articulated in MonaVie’s Global Policies and Procedures, MonaVie distributors are allowed to have only one distributor account or tree position. In the event a distributor becomes unsatisfied—for whatever reason—with their position in the tree, they may elect to terminate their account and “sit out” for a period of six months before re-enrolling in a new position and under a new sponsor of their choosing.
To circumvent such provisions by creating an additional or alternate account is a serious breach of policy and clearly undermines the integrity of the tree. In addition, any distributor sponsor who entices distributors to line-switch, by abandoning their original positions (known as “first in time” accounts) and creating secondary, unapproved positions (otherwise known as “second in time” accounts), is engaging in a practice known as “cross sponsoring,” which is a serious breach of policy and will be subject to appropriate discipline.
We Will Protect Your Investment
MonaVie would have every distributor know that in order to protect the reputation and good name of the company, we intend to send a reassuring message to all prospective distributors that we will protect your investment and the benefits you derive from your place in the tree.
We will enforce a zero tolerance policy for violations. Those who have violated these policies will be required to return to and work their “first in time” position. The “second in time” position will be terminated. Repeat violations will result in automatic termination of one’s distributorship.
We encourage you to become familiar with these two policies by quickly reviewing the two very brief documents included with this communication. We are confident they will clarify any misunderstanding you may have of these important policies, which are designed to protect a distributor’s business. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your local compliance support personnel, or contact the MonaVie Compliance department by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
MonaVie Is Built on Key Ethical Principles
Finally, we remind all that this business is grounded in the principle of duplication. We expect those we mentor and teach to follow our lead to replicate what we teach and what we do. Let’s all ensure we are expecting duplication of honorable principles and values. To our MonaVie distributor leaders, let’s advocate complete adherence to our protective policies and procedures.
We are honored to be partners with you and seek to create every equitable opportunity for your success. The very foundation of this company has been built upon the principles of honesty, integrity, mutual respect, and hard work. Truly, we want you to genuinely feel and say that MonaVie is not necessarily the best company in the world but the best company for the world!
Help us to further strengthen and achieve this ideal and to help others come to experience a more meaningful life through MonaVie by making these policies, values, and principles visible in every element of our business—and more importantly, in every element of our lives.
Let us each with pride say, “I am MonaVie,” and mean it!

Would Orrin Woodward stand on stage and exclaim, “I am MonaVie”? Somehow, I think he’ll say instead, “I am LIFE!”
Ex-TEAM, Ex-MonaVie or current MonaVie distributors: do you have specific instances in which a distributor has or had 2 separate distributorships. One in a second (profit) leg, and later another one afterwards (in the case of ex-TEAM members, after you had left TEAM)? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
1 Update November 16, 2011: It’s come to my attention that not all distributors received this email. I have corrected the original article with this clarification.
