The Dangling Carrots that are the LIFE Coach Awards

An email blast was sent out yesterday to the LIFE Business members announcing the new LIFE Coach Awards. These new awards represent a modification to the existing compensation plan and were created to help people reach higher ranks more quickly.

The example given shows how a LIFE Coach 6 (i.e. 6 downline teams with 15,000PV each month) could become an Executive LIFE Coach (normally 9 downline teams with 15,000PV each month) if his or her downline teams had a particular structure.

In the end, this looks to me like a reclassification of the current rank structure to give the illusion of rank advancement with LIFE. While this might help those Round Table members and above seem like they are making progress, it certainly doesn’t help the majority of people who are stuck at the bottom of the pyramid and who will never get close to achieving a single point (or half-point) in this system.

No doubt, however, Orrin Woodward will take this opportunity to claim that the LIFE business is exploding and that there are more people who are rising in the ranks than ever before.

LIFE Coach Awards

This program is for LIFE Members whose current rank is LIFE Coach 6 and above. It rewards a Member for developing teams that have Members with higher ranks and allows them to move up the rank chart with fewer teams. The program is based on a point system. The Member earns points based on the performance within a team, and the accumulation of these points can result in the Member achieving a higher rank.

Example

A Member with a ranking of LIFE Coach 6 who has another LIFE Coach 6 Member in Team 1, a Senior Coordinator in Teams 2, 3, 4, and 5, and a 12-Month 15K-point Team would have a total of 10 points. And a point total of 10 would qualify the Member as an Executive LIFE Coach.

    As the team that I was with hit 15,000 one month when the MFC was launched but never hit 11,000 any month after that, I wonder what it would take to keep 6 at this level???

    This might help the Jim Martins and the Mark Paul’s, but the majority will never get close enough to taste this.

    If a dozen people are still Trip Tracking below me with no one ever qualifying, all this will do is encourage the leaders to manipulate others in order to reach their own goals.

    This won’t increase organically grown numbers at all. How sad this will become just another tool to use on people.

    It seems to me that the real purpose here is to again make things more complicated. The more complicated you make things the tougher it gets to see the truth. This does not change the fact that upwards of 97% of people cannot mathematically make a profit.

    Another way to create recognition…..just like when a company took away the requirements for personals/personal star 500 legs. I think it was for Emerald volume and above. Low and behold….. leaders who had two large teams with not many personals and were stuck for a while hit new levels within a few weeks of the change. Whola! Recognition for the seminars!

    People know in their gut when something is gamed.
    The top guy in a team knows the truth about his leader’s performance. Games are unsustainable long term.

    Sure is. Not to FTC tho’. It’s amazing what political contributions can buy in DC these days. Perhaps We The People should annexe that 10 Sq M of land and reposition it in international waters or better yet somwhere between earth and Mars. What’s it gonna take for FTC?

    Now there’s a word MLMmunists know how to make stink, help the MLM version.
    Every time I heard this word from my uplines mostly at month end LOL, it was followed by their efforts to separate me (or someone downline) from their cash, that it had became a painful then. “Let’s help you or him/her/them hit this level, so buy this (insert some wampum here) so that you or him/her/them can be part of this upline’s goals.” But no one offered to pay for it considering they had came down to er… help.

    Amthrax…genius..”dangling carrots”..they aren’t just ‘ordinary’ carrots..they are ‘extrodinary to-good-to-be-true sparkly & shiny ones..that creates the illusion and stimulates your imagination..of “what if”..leads to your dreamy thoughts on collecting on thay ‘pot of gold’ at the elusive end of the MLM..rainbow! …Yep!

    Quite Funny, are they breaching those leadership principles, Again?… It appears orrin woodward & pc crew have once again “lowered-the-bar”..the one thing…oh-desperate; himself says NEVER, EVER, do!

    So which is it?… I’m still confused…How does this help the “first-circle”, again? Hmm… ;/

    Amthrax: LOL! After reading the info you posted, I feel like I just got done with Graduate Record Exams where they have math questions like: “Driver A leaves and drives 12.7 miles to point B but forgets her purse at the 3.6 mile mark and has to go back to get it; driver B leaves in the same direction but takes the first exit west 11.25 miles to pont D. Driver A hits Driver B at the exit on the way to the destination. How many miles has Driver A driven?” By the time you’d get done, you’d just put any answer down because it was actually better to get one wrong than run the risk of not finishing the GRE exams. Likewise, here: if it ain’t makin’ sense…I’d say…find another route to the money.

    The way I see it, the PC “owes” the current Round Tables for all they’ve had to put up with. I figure this is “partial payment” in the PC brain. The remainder, unfortunately, will never be paid. Heck, this won’t even pay out…but it looks good on paper.

    From what I hear on the inside, LIFE ain’t so rosey. But that can’t be. I just got an email from LIFE, and all is well. They have 13 Resolutuons for me to use to start my New Year off right. Yippee!

    How special you must feel, Yippee! LOL…Just curious, Did you get these for free or did you have to buy the MFC, the Book, attend a seminar, major, be a power-player, painfully sit through all their in-house webinars, find “3 for free,” qualify for their newest-pay-the-top- program AND be on full system?!! Or is this just another “dangling carrot?”

    I would bet…Not just anyone gets sent that ya know, they must really ‘care’ about you! 🙂

    I do want to clarify, my comment above is not meant negatively towards the Morgans. Instead toward OW and his flip flop from a depth focused business that he once publicly said he learned the value of from the Morgans, if I remember right – to this new LIFE width focus, which is really an old Amway focus…

    Truthfully in the end, a person considering this needs to comprehend that neither model produces results for any body except the Top Brainwashers.

    You are right, Great point! I wasn’t even paying attention to the “width” something they obviously have never taught nor believed in….It was depth, depth, depth…and “Depth is not an option”…

    I also thought THIS team was about Honesty, Integrity, and Integrity of the LOS , Real Leadership, Unity, Trust, True Friendships, Sacrifice, Take Your eyes off yourself, Care for others…nothin but lip-service and fakers.. from my view point, that all left also!

    Boy were we smoked and blinded..What a shame. I am more grateful than words can describe that they did what they did and no longer could hide and they revealed who they really are. I am just sorry, all those people were “used” and takin advantage of! But I can be thankful for that most, including us are now truly, FREE!

    “to this new LIFE width focus, which is really an old Amway focus”….It must benefit the company the most…with that method…

    @AlmostIn: thanks….honestly, when I was first reading (over and over) Amthrax’s thread…my mind went way back to that Barron’s study book where they tried to teach one how to get through those questions so you didn’t sit there like a dolt, not finishing the test…and what came to mind were these cars driving in circles around a mountain, some backtracking, all doing different distances, etc.. The point of those types of questions: is the reader sharp enough to filter out the BS and get the actual easy answer?

    Yeah, I hear you, too, about the pseudo-intellectualism I picked up on in certan blogs……..didn’t realize at first what I was dealing with until I got to the one about WWII military tactics and how to move in, herd the “prey” and domesticate them…..I mean, c’mon here! Can’t folks in the almighty team see any of this especially after visiting Amthrax? Or see the pick n choose and reinterpretation/skewing of the history of mankind and fail to see the biz is geared toward a select group? The proverbial cherry on the frosting of the stinky undercake for me was: promoting, touting, and printing books for a character who can’t even get his own “university” accredited.

    To wit: the perps are almost forced to have these convoluted pay schemes for distraction like money-magicians, and to distract people with “fired up!” as the elite few skulk surreptitiously off to the bank smirking, laden with mounds of riches while the broke bulk of believers sit in their cars listening to the same CDs over and over. Of course, more camoflage is that there’s always a few “bones tossed”, such as those that earn the limo ride or a vacation. But ya gotta love the “grand poohbah” pay schemes the best!

    Raquel and Melanie: I hope you both didn’t think I was directing my “can’t they see…” comment at you guys—you folks got into it when there really were viable/renewable/consumable products as distinct from what Life does now in rolling everything into a circular one-celled organism with little cilia waving around the edge called consumers who don’t attend meetings……it’s the current batch of Life’rs that amaze me….you’d think that after the 15th or so CD and hearing the same claptrap over and over among the chirps of “Fired Up!”….it would become clear that they might as well be sitting at a Moose Lodge meeting with Ralph Cramden and Ed Norton.

    NOTE: Possible Correction to Inital Thread Example given about what it takes to earn 10 points: in my copy of the payment scheme, the numbers after ranks are for numbers of months achieved, NOT the numbers of teams the ranked member has (reference: Life Member Compensation Plan, Page 5) “the additional ranks signify the number of months within the fiscal year that the member has hit the _________ {fill in rank name} level”.

    Is my interpretation of the EXAMPLE GIVEN to earn 10 points in the beginning of Amthrax’s chart correct, since using 1 PV = approx. earning $1….you need to keep your lines producing:

    1) a LIFE Coach 12 (signifies the number of months achieved) must have 6 teams in total generating $15,000 PV and also individually have another $600 PV in volume. This is $15,600.

    2) Each LIFE Coach 6 (this signifies the number of months achieved), just by virtue of having that title, MUST have 6 teams generating $15,000 PV and each individual life coach in the example must have an additional $600 each: we’re now up to $16,200.

    Totals from #1 and #2 = $31,800

    3) Each Senior Coordinator 6 (of which there are 4 listed in the example). Each of these co-ordinators must have 3 teams, and each group of 3 teams must be generating $15,000 PV and in addition, each SC must carry an additional 2500 in PV volume. 4 x 2500 = $10,000. Then, $15kx4 = $60,000. Adding both together, this level brings in a grand total, then of $65,000.

    Okay: we have $15.6K + $16.2K + $31.8K + $75K = $129,600!!! That’s what it takes, give or take any other activity slated a little differently, like Mental Fitness Challenge tests, etc.

    $128,600!!! (In 6 months, because some people in the example have only achieved their rank for the prior 6 months, unlike the Life Coach 12 who’s now down it for 12 months)

    Calling Mike Collins…is this correct for the example given? Mike Collins: would I now have to take this total number and multiply by 12 yet??? $1,543,200?!!!???

    I ask this because: the rank number means MONTHLY achievement…you gotta keep this up every month! So do I multiply my $129,600 x 12?

    I was ignorant for many years to get that-now fixed, thank goodness not stupid-that’s forever! I know some poor plodders I had found there, are still there, still hoping success is just around the corner and still an’t shakin no tree. Life must be so bad for’em it’s most comical when we bump into each other they don’t even attempt to feign they-are-doing-great! Ha, there’s another scam.

    Amthrax, thank you again for this site. I was thinking yesterday about a cd that Brady did once called 67 Words about all the jargon he recorded during his time in the corporate world. Ironically, you know from the many posts on your site alone that the TEAM/Amway/etc group used a TON of jargon, much of it loaded with innuendo that a new person would not understand at first.

    Would there be a way to start a thread (sort of like the 50 Questions resource), where ex-TEAM members could post and collect various phrases and their definitions and/or history – as a sort of dictionary?

    They had to do something about the lack of recognition. What gets me is that all we ever hear about is recognition for Round Table, PC & other similar Turbo ranks. But I was thinking….these are all Team ranks based on system numbers. These numbers are easy for them to fake and manipulate. They’ve become expert at it.

    What they can’t manipulate is the LIFE recognition. This is based solely on the sales of LIFE material in subscriptions and sales of LIFE material and tracked by computer. I haven’t either seen nor heard anything about LIFE recognition. Why no LIFE recognition if the LIFE business is booming?

    Do ya think maybe they need to dangle the carrot a little lower???

    Used to be one of my favorite CD. It used to reside in the Additional Information Pack or Getting Started Pack. I can’t remember which one. But it was a silver bullet objection killer.

    Its quite simple to understand. Money from sales is being allocated for those bonuses that are above and beyond the 50% payed out on the stair step. It appears as if no one is able to grow their teams big enough, and sustain the growth, to earn the bonuses. So, in order to at least have someone earning those bonuses, so it looks like they are succeeding, they simply lowered the bar.

    Forget all of the vilifications, you all should be jumping for joy. This is a big indicator that Lief is going nowhere. This tells me they are churning people in and out, just like usual.

    I could use some evidence of Life and Team not growing… to show the judge as Mr. Blomdahl claims that I alone did not hurt his Team business and I sure didn’t lie either which he has to prove. We all know that Team was divided into Team and Life and the majority of his Team sales now come under Life…..conveniently he didn’t talk about that. I just wonder what the judge will say when he finds out that there are 2 other businesses involved Monavie and Life and not just Team as was claimed in the complaint?
    Anyway I will prove that Life isn’t growing much across the board if that is true (and it is needed) and it is for many reasons….Of course first Eric has to get the complaint approved and then prove I lied, which I have not……. but best to be prepared.
    If anyone has any hard evidence of the lack of growth in Monavie, Life and as a result in Team that would be helpful. Screen shots, pay stubs, witness testimony… etc. Of course I will supena proof of this across the board but information given freely will help as well.

    Hopefully the complaint will be thrown out with prejudice since it was so vague and didn’t follow Wisconsin statutes. We also have a defense of conditional privilege of common interest since all of this is of public interest. The information on this site is especially important to people either in the business, formerly in the business or looking at the business. That is what I understand this to mean and there are some interesting cases in Wisconsin on this. I also wanted to let you all know our home is officially in foreclosure… so there is not much for Eric to take. But of course he already knew that. I am not in despair at all, but I am actually looking forward to seeing the judge… if this continues forward…..I am getting stronger everyday! Someone must be praying for me! 🙂 I was told it would take around $20,000 just to defend the case….. of course we don’t have that kind of money. Monday I will let you know if we will set up a defense fund…

    I am currently searching for a national firm to file a suit against Team and/or some of it’s leaders and maybe some others. I believe minimally there were deceptive business practices used…… and I think maybe there was criminal activity as well. If you are interested in participating in a suit against Team and/or Orrin Woodward or you have something to file against them or think you may be part of a class that can file a complaint please let me or Melanie know what your thoughts are. I am guessing there may be two suits or two groups, one for leaders who were stolen from and lied to and one for all the thousands of people who never made a profit and lost a ton of money……

    The income and lifestyle claims Team made all those years were against the FTC rules……….the tool scam where the PC’s income and lifestyles really came from….. misrepresenting the Quixtar business as Team was the business when it wasn’t…… Orrin Woodward and Team kicked out of Quixtar for bad business practices….. (I believe Team was NOT part of the Pokorny settement)… Orrin suing Quixtar for being a pyramid scheme after years of making tons of money ….the lie of residual income in recruiting us ( that they still are using it seems) … possible theft by contract fraud?….. God only knows what else they may find or what they will think is wrong here. Maybe the Department of Justice will even have to get involved if there was any criminal activity…. I am not sure.

    If we can find attorney willing to take the case I am willing to invest my time to make it happen.
    I will let you know how my search goes and what they say. We can speak by phone or email. Melanie can give you my number. I believe what Orrin Woodward and Team have done may be fraudulent and against the law. I have decided to find out what my remedies are…..I am done with their bullying and their lies! They have stolen so much from too many.

    Yes…. I know Orrin and other leaders are reading this and no I don’t really care what they think. They had many chances to do the right thing and they chose not to. Speaking to attorneys, I am realizing there are laws against this crap and it is not just some disagreement. Time to move and do something about this.

    Raquel – We have some great info for your case!

    Also, can’t wait for Eric to have to show his tax records and back office info in order to prove any effect on his business. This should be interesting. Please make sure the judge does not seal those records. If Eric filed the case, he made the choice, he’s got to live with it. Those records need to go public.

    and you are definitely on to something with the class action suit against Team. Remember, it was Orrin who filed the class action suit against A/Q. Let’s see how he handles this. There have got to be tens of thousands of people who wasted thousands of dollars after being mis-led about the fact that the real money was being made on the Team tools instead of Quixtar or MonaVie. I would think there would be several nationwide attorneys that would love a case like this. And I think it would be pretty easy to show the loses of all these people. And we have tons of witnesses to verify that from stage the impresson was given that the income was coming from a product business. This is about to get very interesting……Thank you Eric for starting things going. You asked for it. Looks like you’ll be getting what you want. Lots of court time. 🙂

    Raquel, I’m not of any use to you since I was never in TEAM, but I would find it quite relevant for Amway to be disclosing to the judge why Woody & Co. were kicked out of Amway. If you were part of them in Amway, this is certainly relevant.

    I mean, if a huge MLM company that everyone has heard about kicked them out, I think a judge would certainly have to take that into consideration and it would be a good segue into the types of people behind TEAM/LIFE.

    If Amway tells the judge about poor/illegal/unethical business practices, it would establish a history. This would be difficult to defend against, is germane to the topic, and establishes a baseline of behaviour that wasn’t accepted for apparent legal reasons by the giant of MLM in the US. Really, who gets kicked out of Amway?

    The Amway article entitled, “Just Go Team” would be a good starting point for anyone trying to educate themselves about the type of people you’re dealing with.

    Just my thoughts.

    Kirk Birtles…what kind of juice was THAT guy on? That’s what I always wondered when I heard him speak any way.

    A top international success magazine, eh? Which one I wonder? Maybe the one that Haselhoff Lookalike XS Peddler printed? Or that Botox King who “sought Orrin out on the cruise ship” to beg him to let him feature TEAM in the centerfold every month? (You know the insert that was only in the issues they sent to paying IBO’s – that didn’t breath a word of TEAM in the issues on the stand).

    Dangling Carrots indeed! These guys need to find a good science fiction or maybe inventors publication, because they really need an award for their ability to create “recognition” out of thin air!

    Hmmm…Alchemists magazine maybe??

    MemoryLame: “what kind of juice was that guy on…” got a great chuckle out of that one! Actually, though, the more stupendous info is the one I did before the Birtles one….OW is now finding a way to capitalize and confabulate on his prior legal battles…and actually turning it into a book, to tell us all why we need the type of leadership he has in taking back America from the Progressives, all the way back to 1913 might I add, and teamed up, once again, with the mastermind of Jeffersonian education who can’t seem to wrangle an accreditation for his “university” even after 12 years or so. I’m amazed when I see OW connecting the dots and scrambling to change history, even his own current one.

    OW actually wants to take us all back to toga town Rome and run things to the present–he really does, and he also wants to use the “Socratic Method” of debate like the Pied Piper blew to get the confused masses to follow him. Does he sit down in St. Lucie and dream all of this stuff up so they don’t run out of trough fodder?

    @MemoryLame, now that was funny! “Hasselhoff lookalike XS peddler” and the “Botox King”, their faces automatically popped into my mind, I think you have it. I remember the “Botox King” showing up at our major and pitching us his gig. Oh how special we all thought we were to be in their magazine. Oh yeah, and by the way, ….we should have been pissed since it cost us all money to be in there.
