One Million Page Views

February 6, 2013

The site crossed the one million total page views threshold today!

What started as a simple blog detailing my personal MLM experience has expanded to become a community site for many people to share their own stories. Far too often, people leave MLMs with embarrassment and shame; they think that it was their fault they did not succeed in “the business” when in fact the complete opposite is true.

The site’s focused has certainly changed since its inception in mid-2008. Today, there is a strong emphasis on revealing the deceptive and unethical business practices of MLMs and their training organizations such as MonaVie, TEAM (now known as LIFE Training), and LIFE. For instance, with community help, we’ve shown that not all that glitters is gold in the TEAM/LIFE world. Here’s a brief recap of some of the things we’ve accomplished together:

While reaching one million total page views is nice, it’s not a true measure of success for this blog. For me, success is hearing from readers how the information on this site saved them from a manipulative cult or from making a terrible business decision.

I did it! I finally paid off my $14,000 Quixtar credit card debt. It was humbling to tell the credit card company that I could not pay this debt quickly. I reached a deal to pay a low interest debt with a monthly payment schedule I could afford. Now that took 6 years to payoff.

For those who are affected by the Quixtar/Amway/Monavie bug, this is a cautionary tale for you. Think about all the books, tapes and meetings you’re charging up. Are you making enough money to cover your credit card charges?

Can you really put your life on hold to pay all those charges you can’t recover from? Think about.

I was doing the “fake until you make it” mentality too. I doesn’t work.

Glad I got out of these MLMs. Now I run a successful small business where I get to learn about REAL business principles!

    Congrats Amthrax on your achievement.

You should win some kind of an award or something. If there isn’t one available, I’ve had years of advanced training in making these things up, and I’ve learned from the best in the industry.

    Consider yourself a winner!

Congratulations! Extra congrats in order since you didn’t get to 1,000,000 by your readers searching and refreshing to build your numbers. Haha! You do great work and you have certainly helped me find answers I was looking for. Thank you Amthrax!

I don’t think this is what TEAM was referring to when they said “We’re going to a million”. LOL

Looks like someone hit a million without even trying!

Congrats Amthrax, you’ve got good exposure going on here, and it has undoubtedly saved people money from the likes of Orrin Woodward, Chris Brady, George Guzzardo, and Claude Hamilton.

I look forward to the next 5 years of enlightenment! I wonder where this will all be when the next 5 years has come and gone?

I wish we also had a ticker on the side that said “Lives Saved”.

Congrats Amthrax! I think with all of the recent media exposure regarding the Herbal Life and FTHM scams, more and more people are looking for fair and balanced analysis of the MLM industry, and you will probably hit 2 million views in no time! North Americans are slowly waking up to the reality of the devastation that the MLM industry is causing, and for this I am grateful. Your blog will continue to attract readership as you provide well researched articles and you treat everyone with respect, even if at times they don’t appear deserving of it. Bravo to you and all of the people that have contributed to this site!

Congratulations Amthrax! And thank you, thank you, thank you for all your work to maintain this site. It is a blessing for many people.

So it took five years to get to a million views. If we were to compare the Team’s numbers five years ago to what they are today, I wonder what kind of story that would tell? (Clearly not a favorable one for Orrin Woodward, or he would publish the comparisons himself.)

The best part is that we know Orrin had a hand in Amthrax getting to 1,000,000 page views 🙂

    Hi Orrin!

    Thank you, so much, Amthrax!

This site has helped me so much in clearing my head of the confusion I put there before.

Also, I’ve met some great new friends here. Good to know you’re all out there.

JaimeE – congratulations, that gives me hope!

Thanks to everyone who congratulated me on my debt.

    Now it’s your turn.

I’m rooting for you to finish paying what you started. Keep going. The light is at the end of your tunnel.

As a backstory, I sure did sacrifice a lot of quality of life for those 6 years to get myself out. No eating favorite foods at my favorite restaurant. Used public transportation to save gas. Switched lightbulbs to LED to save electricity etc. It’s not easy BUT it’s doable. Keep your nose to the grindstone and it will happen.

As a matter of fact, use the same zeal and excitement when you were building your Amway/Quixtar/Monavie/Team business. That’ll get you out of debt in no time.

I wish we can do the following for recognizing you for amount of debt you paid down every quarter.

    1. Give you pin levels.
    2. Have give you a speech on stage for inspiration to keep your persistence.
    3. Walk across the stage

Oh, yeah! You can! You can use your imagination and visualization as we were taught in the business. I guess I’ve learned something valuable after all! (LOL)

Quitting this MLM is the best thing you’ve done or will ever to do. Pursue your God given dreams instead. It’s more profitable.

I should have said the amount of debt you incurred in team is discusting. So sorry! thanks for the encouragement! I’m sure glad you all are here. The undue shame and burden this business brings ia diaturving. people are either blamimg themselves or so embarrassed they were ever a part of it, they don’t speak out. That makes me so sad. People have no idea the built in failure rates or true expenses in time and money. We were decieved.

By the way I would give you a standing ovation! while you walked across stage….Id even let you speak into the microphone! You can be the featured speaker! 🙂

I was just thinking that it was kind of funny that it was easier for Amthrax to hit 1 million than it has been for Orrin and his “TEAM”. That says something to me.
